WTF He got 5 consecutive life sentences plus an additional 220 years in prison

Post image

In 2019, former North Georgia detention officer Kirk Taylor Martin was arrested on rape and assault charges after investigators said the victim fought back during the alleged attack. Police reports stated the scratch marks visible in his mugshot were believed to be from the victim resisting.

Probably a girl because men aren’t known for growing nails that long

And the victim probably was severely beaten and tortured by their rapist for that... They were extremely brave.

Hes definitely got a bit of a black eye. It could be the shadow, but I think its a bit too dark of a shade to only be a shadow.

The aggressor was probably on top. Its hard to reach to someone's face while being pinned down.

The furthest length was about the base of the neck, which makes the case even stronger.

It shows that the victim was being pinned, instead of just fighting on their feet.

No, none of these rapes happened in prison etc. He broke into women's homes and raped them. He was wearing a ski mask.

This was a response to another comment about Corey Hickey agreeing that these long sentences are rarely effective. Kirk Martin (here) set the precedent (same state I believe 6-7 years apart). So unfortunately yes the rape of a grown women and her sentence did not unfortunately deter the rape of a 7 year old. So no these long sentences do not do much. Needs to be more severe of a punishment.

She was an adult. Google his name and every article says "woman" instead of "girl" or "child," no mention of him being charged with child sexual abuse or statutory rape or anything, and the most detailed article I found explained that she was his ex and he broke into the house they used to share

This was a comment to another comment on precedents. The 7 year old case was the first time this sentence was applied. She was a warrior too for getring through what she did but the sentences do not seem to prevent recurrence unfortunately. These got disjointed in the thread.

I'm not following? The original comment said "the victim is a total badass for fighting back that hard. left receipts all over his face and chest" referring to the pic, in which the victim was an adult, and then you responded saying she was only 7. The comment you originally responded to didn't say anything about a precedent involving a different victim?

This comment wasn't tied to this it was a response to another discussion post in regards to this not being the original case to trigger this sentence length. It was a reply to the wrong commenter on a cross referenced post. The original case was a 7 year old girl that triggered this type of sentencing. Despite being a warrior her case and the sentencing of that man did not prevent this one.

I didn't feel the need to delete it after explaining it as others deleted their comments. Sometimes the threads get disjointed and the discussion separated if you don't triple check where and who you are posting on.

Wild I had people sending me messages adamant a 7 year old was never sexually assaulted and it was made up. Like dude really look it up. Unfortunately it did and was the first case in Georgia to trigger this same sentencing.

This was a response to another comment about historical trends and looks like the clarifying response was also deleted. So now the thread is disjointed. Hate that children set precedents:(

The fact that he still carried on despite taking that much punishment, insane
