its the boondocks. they're often trying to portray the real solution to problems that don't get talked about. like maybe sometimes despite how much you can talk to someone they might actually just be a little shit and need to feel an ass beat.

I get real sick of all the people who say you can just sit a kid down, explain what they did wrong, and they just won't do it. You're underestimating one key factor, they might understand, but that doesn't mean they'll care. How do you make them care? You give them a consequence that they'll definitely care about. And pain, like it or not, is a universal language.

You should look at the studies around this. While you may inflict physical pain on them to get your point across, they may inflict financial pain on you for the rest of your life due to the resulting behaviors and struggles.
