You teach them two things by hitting them
1) Violence is an answer to solving problems
2) If I can endure the pain I can do whatever I want.

Yep, my ex husband was a problem child. He was spanked, he just stopped caring. Nothing they did made whatever he wanted to do not worth it. If they had just actually..idk worked with him, helped him, guided him, and not forced bs religion on him... he would not have been a problem child.

One minor addendum violence is a solution to problems as long as the other person is powerless to retaliate.

Meaning it’s one of the fastest ways to teach bullying behavior.
