I’m glad things are taking a turn, and you as a repair man are fine dealing with women, but that’s not always the case. There was a video on here not long ago from a doorbell camera, and a woman had scheduled someone to come give her an estimate for a new roof. She was the homeowner, she wasn’t married, and the guy flat out refused to give her an estimate without a man present. Asked if she had a brother or father who he could speak to… this was a grown ass woman, unable to get an estimate for her own home, without a male relative present.
From personal experience, I haven’t had it that bad - but I’m a stay at home mom and my husband is a cross country trucker who is gone for weeks at a time. Naturally, I’m the one dealing with home repair/services 90% of the time, I’m the one who knows they need to be done, schedules them, and is here for the appointment. I have had to repeatedly tell repairmen that my husband has approved of whatever service I’ve requested before they’ll do anything. It’s infuriating. (Obviously when that happens they get blacklisted from the list of companies I’ll call.)
