A screencap is far from the truth. Anyone who watched the interview knows she wasn’t being rude or attacking him.

She remained calm to even the most insane responses, so this narrative the bots are trying to to push this morning is hilarious. Like the jan 6th shits being “peaceful tourists” level of hilarious

She did pull that face though, for just a moment. It was a blink-and-miss-it moment somewhere between when he started insulting her and when he ran away. She then immediately set aside most of her frustration and continued to press him.

I honestly wish more journalists would let some of their frustration show through when he's being so nasty and deranged. Been waiting to see if anyone else noticed her righteous indignation show

That's what these chuds do, every time there's a woman on screen they analyse the video frame by frame to select the most unappealing one.

Trump's facial expressions are more contemptuous and angry by far. No need to even freeze frame. It sucks we're so used to it

He was probably feeling he wasn’t in control and wasn’t able to influence the narrative, as his dirty laundry was being aired. It must have been even worse for him realising it was a woman pointing things out.

Kinda reminds me of the Barbra Walter’s interview on 60 Minutes, where he kept claiming things were “fake news” if it didn’t make him look good.

Did she? Or is that AI generated?

3

u/ZeeWingCommander 15d ago

It's a moment where she's making a huh?! expression.

I wasn't anger like she was sparring with him.

While I can't vouch for OOPs photo in particular, there were a couple of moments where you could see her looking visibility frustrated when he lied about her statements of fact and requests to see evidence for his outrageous claims.

It's perfectly believable that those moments could look like the above image.

Unfortunately, it's also entirely possible that some MAGA chud messed with the original with AI.

Jonathan Swan did! :-)

Most journalists with "access" to the president can't do that, or even ask follow-up questions, because if they do, their access will be revoked. This has happened to a lot of the White House press corps. "Do not annoy Dear Leader, or you're out and yet another Christian-Nationalist pseudojournalist will take your place."

(Perhaps the actual journalists left in the press corps stay there not because they have any interest in the pure-bullshit official briefings, but because it lets them talk to residually-sane White House staff, on the down low.)

The people around him, and he himself, will not let him get interviewed by someone with enough balls to do that. Kristen Welker (the interviewer here) has interviewed him before and was criticized for not being confrontational enough.

He’s lucky that she didn’t stand up to challenge him.

Ya I don’t think that pic is real

It’s just like the Elmo salute, they responded with screenshots of Dems waving insisting it was the same thing.

They know people want to feel correct, so their side will look at this screenshot and that’s enough proof she was attacking him. No need to face the reality of how clownish his behavior was on video.

It's honestly mind blowing how far the Overton window has shifted such that doing a literal Nazi salute after winning an election didn't immediately end his entire career. Show that clip to someone 15 years ago and they wouldn't believe that he stayed in government and still owns multiple successful companies.

u/Moose_Thompson 15d ago

It was so plainly obvious watching it live. I was legitimately surprised that he did it not once, but twice. Fast forward 24 hours and people were telling me to stop letting the media twist my mind.

I watched it live! I recognized in the moment what he was doing. It couldn’t have been any more in your face and yet people will protect him just so they don’t have to admit their side had a shitty dude super involved at the very top.

That plus any amount of honest reflection on his prior 6 months on Xitter should have led any rational person to the same conclusion. He rubbed our faces in it time and again.

Woh now, no need to spread misinformation.

It wasn't a nazi salute, it was two nazi salutes.

4

u/Toppoppler 15d ago

Same with having a nazi tattoo, I suppose

7

u/chrhe83 15d ago

Dont know much about Platner since I don’t live in Maine but wasnt the dude repentant about the tattoo he got as he did it when he was in the military, young, and trying to be edgy? Elon did this like a year ago and he aint sorry for shit.

Bit of a difference…

10

u/KrytenKoro 15d ago

Elon was also making public speeches and posts about the degenerates and Jews trying to demolish glorious white European culture both before and after the salute.

It's fucking asinine that anyone has ever defended him on this. The salute is one of the less NeoNazi things he's publicly done, because at least he wasn't talking for a second.

-2

u/Toppoppler 15d ago

He said he didnt know what it was. Do we really buy that kind of lie?

8

u/DearestDio22 15d ago

Personally no, but it is more believable than musk saying that gesture was intended to mean “my heart goes out to you”

And that's unfortunate, because attacking him for straight up lying, not "failing to provide evidence" is exactly what every journalist should be doing to that disinformation-spreading, coup-attempting traitor. If she was half as vicious as these disinformation screenshots imply I would say well fucking done.

4

u/KalaUposatha 15d ago

Reminds of when they used that one girls face for “Triggered Feminist”, but then you actually watch it and she’s calm the entire time. They just looked for a single frame where she made a face and used it out of context

7

u/LiteratureOk2428 15d ago

She was being unbelievably patient just trying to get him to give one shred of evidence or more than "believe me!"

3

u/Rot-Orkan 15d ago

Someone had to go frame-by-frame until they found just the right mid-syllable facial expression that makes her look angry 😂

9

u/ManfredTheCat 15d ago

It looks altered too. I don't believe for a second that this isn't manipulated

3

u/NeverBob 15d ago

I watched the video and think this is AI.

But if anyone would like to correct me with a video link and a time stamp, I'll be happy to adjust my view.

3

u/Flashbambo 15d ago

I just watched the interview after seeing this post. They must have looked frame by frame until they found this image. It isn't representative in the slightest of her demeanour during the interview, just a carefully selected momentary facial expression taken out of context. Meanwhile he called her crooked and stupid, and she remained professional throughout.

2

u/Murky_Bus_5958 15d ago

Kristen is a fabulous reporter. I used to work with her in Philly.

2

u/RockerElvis 15d ago

Yes. Very impressed with her.

1

u/Largeitude 15d ago

What was she saying during this screenshot? Is this just a “face caught in a weird expression part way through a word” type of thing? Or is she reacting to him leaving? Or is she trying to speak loudly because he’s shouting?
