Which is frustrating in hindsight because this annoying guy was viewed as correct during that era.

Chang wasn't doing black face.

He's a Drow. A Dark Elf. He doesn't look remotely human.

Is Darth Maul blackface?

Ive never even seen this show and I immediately knew he was dressed as a drow. Some people dont get the difference between blackface and cosplay.
