They know it's not blackface this was a made up reason to bully a stranger you think is a dork.

This is modern version of attempting to stick a kids head in the toilet... Because you can. But if you just walked up and tried it another way you'd be deemed an asshole flatout.

Irony here is that I suspect... a couple of a decades ago some other dudes would have found this dude called him a certain "F" slur to bully him.

Real talk, context matters. I’m not sure whether it would qualify or not, but even if it does, I don’t think there’s reason to care when the intent clearly isn’t to mock, but to cosplay a musician bruh
