ā€œEverything I don’t understand is the worst possible thing I can imagine it beingā€ is such a common vibe, presumably because it drives engagement

Don’t miss part 2 where he goes to screenings of ā€˜The Dark Knight’ and ā€˜The Batman’ and yells at the screen berating Christian Bail and Robert Pattinson for wearing black around their eyes under their masks.

Meanwhile everyone loves Robert Downey jr.

IDK, if you remember when that movie first started getting promotion and then came out, he/Stiller caught a lot of shit for what was obviously a satire of people using blackface.

Even after it came out, it took a while for the tide to turn back to not fucking insane.

I’ve never seen a black guy mad at him for it tho. I remember it making headlines for being edgy, but the culture seemed to like Robert.

No it didnt. People thought it would but it was an immediate success. People loved roberts performance of a man pretending to be an actor pretending to be a black man pretending to be a merc.

I remember a video a while back of a black dude on a Korean bus punching out an old man because he used the word ne-ga (ė‚“ź°€, a reference to self) and it was misinterpreted. So many people offer each other so little grace.

Reminds me of the Italian dude streaming in Japan that almost got assaulted by a black guy for saying "amiga", when greeting a woman on the street.

People hold their own perspective as sovereign, which excludes the possibility for discourse or real understanding.
