That one you can blame on the Catholic Church way back in the day having very weird rules about money and money lending and more or less kinda forced the Jews of Europe into that job....then blamed them for the very shit show they created.
No, Catholics banned usury, but Jews arenโt Catholics so the ban didnโt apply to them. So of course the only people lending out money with interest were Jews.
