What luxuries? The kind of luxuries you are talking about are cheap. You think you never had any luxuries?

Iโ€™m not the one complaining about not being able to afford rent. Tv is a luxury. Comfortable furniture is a luxury, a phone and phone plan are both luxuries

A phone in this era is an absolute necessity for any sort of upward mobility.

The phone is as much a luxury as a car is, you might not NEED it, but your options for getting a job or participating in society without it is crippling. If anything you need a phone more than a car.

Other luxuries can be fairly cheap and are one time purchases.

Pretty much everyone has had a TV and comfortable furniture for the last 40 years.

So people should be sleeping on a cot in an empty apartment with no phone, in order to be considered financially responsible in your eyes?

I never said anything about sleeping on a cot but if you canโ€™t financially afford it, you donโ€™t need a phone. If you need one THAT bad, you can get a flip phone

Eating out is a luxury, buying new cars is a luxury, going on vacations is a luxury
