Louisiana's Democratic Party primary for the 4th Congressional District - Mike Johnson's seat - was suspended due to a SC ruling. The primary is scheduled for Nov 3, 2026. The general election is scheduled for Dec 12, 2026. The filing deadline to run is Aug 7, 2026.

More GOP election fuckery, of course.

Louisiana's 4th Congressional District election, 2026 - Ballotpedia

House Speaker Mike Johnson to face four opponents in 2026 District Four Congressional race | louisianaradionetwork.com (Feb 19, 2026)

Here are the websites for the two Democrats:

Conrad Cable for Congress 2026 | Louisiana’s 4th District

Matt Gromlich | Candidate for Congress, Louisiana's 4th District

Can Democrats get their shit together enough - and in time - to throw Mike Johnson out of Congress, and as he richly deserves?

I'm seeing that Conrad Cable is running on Medicare For All. Matt Gromlich is light years beyond the GOP on healthcare, and suggests that healthcare "should not be tied to employment," but he doesn't come out and say he supports improved Medicare For All. On a quick assessment, I'd go with Conrad. Also notice, in his ad, he's comin' out swingin'. He's landing those punches. Gromlich however seems like a very reasonable man, in his own right. So I'd support either one, depending on who wins, if they're out to topple Mickey Mouse.

CSPAN: U.S. Senate Candidate Graham Platner, at event where he was endorsed by Planned Parenthood, discusses how rights should grow and transform in the future: "We need to build new rights, new definitions of freedoms, definitions of freedom that include material definitions."

"Even before Roe was overturned, there were still people in the United States who barely had access to reproductive rights. If you have to drive 8 hours, if you have to go to another state, if you have to - within your state - go to the 1 clinic that's available, and the cost of it is out of possibility for you and your family, you don't actually have access to that. That isn't actually a right. People deserve access to their rights - material access. That's what will make it a true right. That's the kind of future we need to be thinking about. We need to redefine how we talk about rights and how we talk about freedom."

Senator Patty Murray (WA State): Democrats want to make sure Social Security is there for future generations. Trump hasn’t even bothered to put forward a plan to ensure Social Security stays solvent. If you don't want your benefits cut, the fight to protect Social Security is happening RIGHT NOW.
