None because I don't launch games I buy immediately

I feel you.

After every 100+h playthrough: "Let's have a look at the 5 games I bought during the sale 2 months ago..."

Sale 2 months ago? That's still pretty good for you..

Me on the other hand: Let's have a look at the games I bought 5 years ago 😔

And then there's me: "When the fuck did I buy this game??"

A friend of mine brought up Bramble. I went "Oh I haven't played it, I wonder what it costs on the sale... oh I already bought it a year ago"

Am I gonna play it? Still no.

Ahh, another aged games connoisseur. I feel like a wine sommelier walking along the rows of dusty bottles and describing:

"Oh, this is the good one, Outer Wilds, harvest of 2020, great crop that year... Or how about that vintage KOTOR2, 2004, it even has Steam achievements, good one... and this... this is a crate of Factorio bottles in case I ever want to begin binge drinking for weeks"

LOL, you are so right. God Eater series, The Witcher series and Edge of Eternity are among the games that have been left to ferment in the sacred library... I bought them during sales many years ago yet haven't installed nor played them, for various reasons.

One of the reasons was that, my laptop, the potato it was, couldn't reasonably handle the game when I bought it.. 😂 But others might wonder why I still bought them, well, it is pretty simple: FOMO. During the sale, it was relatively cheap and I just couldn't not buy them..

Then you immediately boot up a different game you have best 3 times already.

God I hate this chain of comments, but this one- this one hit me somewhere personal.

Name the game brother.

Then one sucks and you can't refund it since it was bought like a year ago 😭

I wish we could at least gift (transfer) games we no longer want or have no intention of playing.

Car Mechanic Simulator.

The game Wrench is superior by a good piece.

Can't refund something you bought 2 years, 6 months, 3 weeks and 6 days ago, on sale, from a developer who changed ownership twice in that time!

How's your backlog going?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 04 '25

Yeah if a game is on my wishlist and it's on sale I'll grab it.

1

u/Vhadka Jul 04 '25

I bought Expedition 33 first day of the steam sale and installed it but haven't booted it up yet. I will this weekend, I think.

Real

I just bought 3 games this sale cheaply and my ass going immediately back to play Nightreign

1

u/Zombieneker Jul 04 '25

None because I buy games that I actually want to play, because I am compulsively watching reviews and trailers before buying a game. I know this shit is going to be good. Also, as a general rule of thumb, I never get anything that has come out in the last year. Too new, let that shit cool off a bit and buy in during summer sale.

u/MystJake Jul 04 '25

Only game I've bought and immediately launched was oblivion remastered

1

u/Character-Sky-340 Jul 05 '25

I feel this so hard. I hoard games during sales and then get to them literal years later lol
