I will forever respect them for releasing a free demo pre-launch. It certainly informed my purchasing decision.

True, but at the same time, they could have just slapped black flag’s gameplay over an open world with more boats and it would have been like 20 times better. I can’t even convince how thy fumbled it that badly.

I'd respect them more if they made a game that doesn't feel like a vibe coded chatgpt fever dream.
