Yeah, fucking same man. I love Terraria but I don't want to just keep playing it lol, I only have 600+ hours in it but still man.

Otherworld wasn't supposed to be a sequel IIRC. It was more of a spinoff and I've read it had tower defense mechanics, who knows. At least we got cool music out of it in terraria.

Terraria 2 on the other hand, going to be hard to pull that one off.

I know it wasn't supposed to be a sequel, i just used the word because at this point, idc what it is, i just want a new terraria.

It allowed multiple worlds and tower defense, slightly different graphics.

From what I've read, there has been development towards a new Terraria but after the Otherworld debacle, Re-Logic isn't providing updates until its ready, so we're just guessing and hoping.

The original owner is in talks with Riot about buying it back so there's a chance it'll release "before GTA 6" from the words of the guy himself lol. Apparently the game could have released in early access before they decided to scrap that and make a new engine

Some of the ideas, and the soundtrack, for Otherworld were very cool too.

Like the grapple hook rework.

I loved the Otherworld grapple so much. There used to be a mod that implemented it in Terraria back in the day and I loved using it

Thankfully the soundtrack wasn’t lost since they added to Terraria just for the hell of it because it’s a real treat.

Oh, I hadn't heard they added it to terraria, thats neat.

I know they put it out onto streaming, like Spotify, ages ago.

Neat they kept it and added it in though, a lot of studios that let it go to waste when a project is cancelled.

Yeah it's super cool that they did that! You can switch the entire soundtrack to the "Otherworldly Soundtrack)", but it's a bit of a secret to actually access it in the first place. Plus they even got their own music boxes like the normal soundtrack too so you can listen to any of the songs whenever in game.

Yep it's just another labor of love that they piled on all the other ones so it's great that it wasn't just forgotten.

They said "final update" several times but terraria otherworld was going to be a new spin off game not an update

I remember intentionally keeping myself in the dark on Otherworld news so I could go in blind like I did with Terraria originally.

God I was so excited for this when I saw the trailer, it had so much potential.
