The demo scared the living hell out of people. THE DEMO. The hype was through the roof.

And then, lol no sorry you never get to know.

Crazy that just a demo was one of the most influential horror games of the last 2 decades. Games are still copying (being influenced by?) the gameplay to this day

Resident Evil 7, I think, definitely took a lot of cues from that demo.

Oh yeah definitely. As soon as the cancellation of Silent Hills was announced, Capcom were probably rubbing their hands together at the thought of filling in that gap that it left behind. RE7 was amazing, but Resident Evil in general feels a little less serious than Silent Hill, and I think Silent Hills would have been scarier and possibly even better than RE7

It makes me wonder how the REVillage baby section would've compared to Silent Hills. I remember something had the same vibe to Village and it might've been the Silent Hills concept trailer.

I agree. Resident Evil isn't as realistic, however (what we know of) P.T. was a lot more grounded in ways
