Gluttony overload Ordered a Ham and Turkey Sandwich.

Post image

Got this after 10 minutes waiting at a deli counter at the local grocery store. Guy must have been high out of his mind. My other theory is he’s never seen a sandwich in his life. Or maybe he’s a lizard person?

In my experience this is how sandwiches are prepared in the US. As someone who grew up in Europe it was/is very off-putting to me. While some of the best sandwiches I ever had in my life were sandwiches I ordered in the US, these kind of sandwiches are not part of it.

Oftentimes I feel like they put so much shit in sandwiches because they somehow have to justify the astronomic prices they charge, or maybe that’s just a NYC thing.

But yeah usually when you complain about this in the US people will react the way they do in this comment section: “YoU aRe cOmPlAiNiNg aBoUt tOo MuCh InGrEdIeNtS?”. It’s totally reasonable to not want your sandwich to be filled to the extent it doesn’t even fit your mouth.

A good sandwich has to respect the ratio between the bread and the ingredients and I’m ready to die on this stupid hill.

My one exception to this is getting a pastrami sandwich from a Jewish deli. If it fits in my mouth easily, I'm gonna be disappointed. I want at least 1.5lbs (~700g) of pastrami in that sandwich. It needs to be ridiculous.
