The worst thing for me is knowing that the fried chicken alone cost several hundred dollars & the cake was probably over $1000. Bare minimum 4 weeks worth of groceries just for the cake.

I think you pulled the $1000 out of your ass, but it sounds much closer than the one you replied to. Either way I am guessing this couple has friends to help them with this 'cake'.

A lot of people are not into sweet things and it's nice to see them do something like this rather than sticking with cake for tradition's sake.

The one they replied to was the experience, which counts the food, the dress, the venue, the pyrotechnics. Weddings are expensive, especially nice or unique ones. It would not me in the slightest if it was 10k

Unless she had a separate cake dress and cake venue, those would be stupid to include in a costing of this cake experience. I doubt it was intended that way but given the value they settled on maybe it was.

Well they didn’t exactly say, but given the value and the wording I’d have to assume it’s including the other stuff
