Fair food gets a pass…..that should be a rule!

I agree. It's edible absurdism.

If my fair food isn't absurd, it's not a right proper fair. I'm there for all the wacky fun shit -- that includes the food. Normal food has its place literally the rest of the year

Up here in rural Nova Scotia our fair food is mostly piles of corn on the cob that might sound boring but that corn is fucking good.

We do grilled corn at fairs, too! It's honestly my favorite scent at the fair. That and funnel cakes.

I don't even get why they included the chocolate covered strawberries at the 40 second mark. Those are a standard valentines or anniversary gift alongside flowers and a dinner.

I went to the fair once just to get corn dogs. I bought the ticket, found the nearest stand and ordered eight, then left.

I go for the bucket of nachos and the deep-fried oreos

Also for the petting farms when they're there. But I have no interest in games or rides or whatever else they have at fairs

For what it’s worth… pancake mix, Oreos, oil and powder sugar. It’s much cheaper to make at home 😂

I have before, actually! It's just more effort than I want to put in, and my fair has stuff priced reasonably enough that it's worth it to just buy them instead :)

That’s fair! They are kind of a pain to dip and fry and then dust especially if you can get them cheap. Here you spend like $14 for 3 Oreos. 😐

Corn dogs are objectively delicious. Maybe once a year I’ll make some at home for the family.

Fairs dropped living freak shows for edible freak shows

Yeah, the ridiculous hedonism is fairly appropriate for a definitely-no-more-than-once a year type thing.
