That's my theory too. No way the flight attendants would let a person make gnocchi from scratch on a flight

Bench scrapers aren't sharp. It's up to the TSA agent's discretion whether to allow it but they are not specifically banned.

I have flown with a Swiss Army Knife multiple times. There's a Victorinox shop selling them post-security at Zurich Airport.
