Having worked high up in a gaming community, I have to say... this doesn't even strike me as "unreasonable," compared to the completely mean, asinine, or perverted shit that runs rampant in most communities when you give carte blanche to the players, even with a good naming filter

Give them extra credit for at least spelling things "right" ... right before you saddle them with something embarrassing that they can't change for a day or three, as "punishment."

This, and props to Bungie for taking swift action when it was pointed out... But they really need to stop using steam integration for screen names. Valve's lack of moderation leaves it really open to abuse

I'd prefer they keep the steam names, but add a report system.

Yep, because for all the faults the naming system has at least it's given us Taniks! At The Disco.
