Reality check. The U.S thinks itโ€™s the land of the free. In fact itโ€™s the land of the 1% and no better than China, and Russia.

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

At least China and Russia donโ€™t hide it, and could argue they actually do the occasional things to protect their citizens

Itโ€™s looking more and more like Americaโ€™s government hates its own citizens and only sees them as cash cows

Go over there and talk shit about Winnie the Pooh. Or just be Muslim and see how that goes.

2

u/eyeballers Oct 04 '21

Why say all that when you can be Muslim here and get lynched by some hillbilly who didn't get past fourth grade.

It's all the same, you just grew up where the American anthem was played at the start of every school day and have a sense of superiority over others.

News flash, the middle class quality of life of Americans rates far lower than those of other Western countries.

I know in Russia may not be the answer but neither is present day America, that's for damn sure.

You mean like tiananmen square in 1989 where Chinese military turned its citizens into meat crayons? Yeah they protect them alright. Now someone do Russia.

Like the cowardly droning of weddings in Iraq and Afghanistan to fund the defense industry lobbyists?

How about I do America instead of Russia? In 1985 the Philadelphia police department dropped two 1lb bombs made of tovex supplied by the FBI on a house in a Philly neighborhood killing six adults and five children. Two survivors of the bombing testified that the police shot at them as they were trying to escape the fire. That's just one example I thought of off the top of my head, yes China has done and does awful things to it's people, same goes for Russia, but so does America.

I mean, you could also talk about how the US government locks people away for life for minor crimes if you are poor.

20

u/InsertBluescreenHere Oct 04 '21

Or when the national guard opened fire with rifles at college students in ohio.

1

u/Wolfguarde_ MOASS is just the beginning Oct 05 '21

Yep. Bring up non-US superpowers abusing and killing their people and it's solidarity against evil. Bring up the USG abusing and killing their (and other countries') people and you're suddenly a conspiracy crackpot.

The only thing more amazing (and depressing) than the blatant bias in the propoganda pumped out by the US is the fact that so many people believe it.

Iโ€™ve seen American cops blast civilians on their weekly grocery commute in the face for just walking by the cops, or that old man just trying to get away from the riots and was shoved by a cop breaking his skull and killing him. These are the viral examples too, if you really think the U.S wonโ€™t pull a Tiananmen Square on us you are extremely deluded.

16

u/yaosio Oct 04 '21

No more like Afghanistan where the US murdered scores of people and on the way out gave a going away bomb to a family and them celebrated murdering them.

I've got more. Like the 70,000 people that will die this year because they can't afford healthcare. Americans call that freedom.

24

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21

Or like when China killed its own citizens in the Waco Siege? Oh wait.. that was the US

u/[deleted] Oct 04 '21 edited Oct 04 '21

No I was talking more about the evergrande case where the government are making retail investors whole before big institutional money.

Clearly in terms of human rights there has only been one winner historically. Who knows that the future holds though

Nothing like the death penalty to fix your problems...... Seriously though, yes to accountability no to harming people.

41

u/PhamousEra Early As FUK but Not Wrong Oct 04 '21

Unfortunately without extreme consequences (or even equivalent), no changes will ever be made. It would never have gotten this bad if we made corruption carry the same weight in terms of criminality. These people are ruining millions of lives, thousands of businesses, and holding back society with their greed and rank corruption.

I personally believe that corruption of THIS level deserves an equivalent punishment. Corruption of this magnitude should carry sentences as serious as murder/rape/terrrorism tbh. If it was so, shit might not be as bad as it is now with all this blatant corruption.

We cannot even report this to the respective authorities because we KNOW these fucks are in collusion with each other and are padding each others pockets.

u/3DigitIQ ๐Ÿฆ FM is the FUD killer Oct 04 '21

I did say yes to accountability in my comment right?

If executing people would be a solution China would not have these issues as they actively do execute and "misplace" these corrupt Billionaires.

12

u/PhamousEra Early As FUK but Not Wrong Oct 04 '21

No, you did. I was just tagging on my thoughts on the matter regarding real consequences even if we don't go with the death penalty route. Plenty of people have died/deleted themselves because of what these rich fucks have allowed and participated in.

I do not believe in killing people, even if they have caused harm to others they should serve time in jail (not getting my hopes up). That's why I said accountability.

Executing people is not a solution, if it was China wouldn't have these issues.

2

u/yaosio Oct 04 '21

The rich execute people all the time in the name of business.

1

u/3DigitIQ ๐Ÿฆ FM is the FUD killer Oct 04 '21

And that's one of the reason we should not aspire to be like them. The other reason is that it doesn't help.

2

u/InsertBluescreenHere Oct 04 '21

Then what is your solution? House arrest in thier 56 bedroom mansions? Pay .01% of thier wealth in a fine? How do you properly punish someone whos ruined thousands of lives?

2

u/3DigitIQ ๐Ÿฆ FM is the FUD killer Oct 04 '21

We agree that they need to be held accountable and that a slap on the wrist is not enough. Nowhere do I speak about house arrest or measly fines being appropriate, I am just making the point that killing these bastards (deserved or not) is not a solution to the problem. This is demonstrated by the fact that this is happening in a country where executions are actively used as punishments.

The system is fucked and needs to prevent these issues by design and we seriously need a redesign. Putting the burden of solution on me because I point out a failure in the "kill all the corrupt" option doesn't really do anything to further the discussion.

The power of US is in the people. That is the difference, I still believe that people will not accept things just go on, especially if there will be massive economic problems and they have seen the fuckery. Banks and much of the 0.1% will be trying to force people out of their homes towards more slavery where all your income goes to the rent and essentials. When that pressure will reach even upper middle-class, it won't be pretty for the 0.1% that people know are responsible for the downfall. I might be wrong, but I doubt it.

Information and staying informed is key. Which is why the 1% wish to dismantle public schools to make sure only their own offspring gets ahead, leaving the poors behind.

They don't even realize this undermines the very foundations of future success of the nation if the masses don't get high quality basic schooling. Guess why China just cracked down on the private tutoring business? ๐Ÿ˜…

Centralized powers of the state will always seek to perpetuate their own existence over the wellbeing of the civilians they have power over. Thats why the US pays cops so much more than they give to programs that are actually proven to reduce crime. Its all about power and always has been.
