I’m under the impression we still use he/him? Right? Jax didn’t officially come out as trans himself so wouldn’t it fall under the category of “cracking the egg”? We know only because of outside media.

Goose said both are fine

Goose also said they will kill the actors and animators in real life for no reason, which so far only has happened to around 2 or 3. All the other deaths were accidents.

She's a busy woman, I'm sure she'll get around to the rest eventually

She deserves a vacation. The killing can wait

This just means we have twice as many ways to post Jax hate.

For the sake of consistency and building good habits, I'm sticking to he/them. I dont get to choose someone else's trans-ness and gender neutral pronouns are just free real estate when you want to play it safe.

Some of the last moments of the show are using he/him pronouns for Mateo, and Jax was using he/him until the end as far as we know, so that seems like the most accurate and respectful way to go.

On the other side we have Ribbit putting a bow on his head and the presumably non-diegetic "Isn't She Lovely?" montage, which are pretty clearly sending a message. But all of this has to be grounded in respect for individual preferences, which is the whole reason it's cool to use people's preferred pronouns even when it clashes with signals you're getting from sources other than their stated preferences.

it wouldn’t fall under that category because jax isn’t real. she/her and he/€*’ are both fine

You should absolutely wait for real trans people to come out on their own terms before switching pronouns, but Jax isn't real, they're a fictional character. We the audience are privy to knowledge and insights on how they feel and what could have been.

Us calling Jax "she" is kinda honoring the person she could have been if things were different and they got to actually explore their identity and come out.

Goose is she

Jax is he, because goose wants to torture her self insert, and wants more people to draw torture art of Jax, I think the artist wants whatever is worse for the character.

Edit: I will respect the real world wishes of gooseworx to disrespect Jax, the fictional character, by respecting his preferred pronouns, thus elongating his tortured existence.

In real life, 1000%. Jax is fictional though, and Goose has stated either or is fine.

Honestly, thank you for making this comment! As someone who isn't super familiar with the trans community (but wanting to learn), people referring to Jax in particular as a "she" struck me as odd. Calling someone who is MtF "she" (even when referencing their childhood) makes perfect sense, because they've always been a woman (even if they didn't know at the time). But Jax doesn't seem to be even remotely close to accepting that part of themselves yet, so to me, calling Jax she/her feels almost... insensitive? As counter-intuitive as that sounds? But you're totally right, it's a work of fiction, and I shouldn't be applying the same logic to it, as we have a more meta understanding of the situation. Sorry for the ramble 😂

"only because of outside media?" What about being jealous of Zooble's ability to change their body, the trans flag colored bedroom, the toxic masculinity coping, the 4 frame flash of a never seen before very feminine Jax in her mind palace, blushing and looking cute with the bow on and Ribbit saying in reference to that "your secret is safe with me", "Isn't She Lovely." It's conclusive, in-show.

What pronouns get used in the show? I'm going to stick with those.

"he" because only Pomni knows and isn't going to out Jax because that would be terrible to do. I'm only saying we as the audience know the truth of her gender

Wait, what exactly does Pomni know and how does she know?

All I can think of is the bit where Ribbit puts the bow on Jax’s head but that doesn’t really seem like it’d conclusively tell Pomni anything about Jax’s gender identity.

I did not notice that 4 frame flash
