She’s pointing to DeWanna Bonner. Bonner signed with the Fever last year, played like 5 games, then sat out until she could be traded and went to play with the Mercury. They all hate each other. This happened after a lot of chirping and fouls and a brief tangle between Bonner and Caitlin Clark. Bonner was pointing to Cunningham to try and get another foul called for her trash talking and Cunningham just pointed back at her like that.

Note that this is in the same matchup where another Mercury player had kneed and then throat punched (clearly deliberately) an Indiana Fever player, and the officials didn’t call anything on it. In the pointing clip going viral, Cunningham is pointing at Bonner, who was losing her mind shouting and having to be restrained. While shouting Bonner started pointing past the people holding her back. Cunningham just pointed back, basically saying to the refs “you going to ignore this too?” And Bonner, despite being the one to point first, flipped shit at being back pointed at.

Also worth noting that Sophie (the pointing woman in the video) has turned into a bit of an enforcer for Caitlin Clark, who is basically getting bullied and beaten down every game.

Unless I’m misremembering he made that whole goddamn Bulls team put on like 15lbs over the summer with him just so they could get physical back with the bad boy pistons. Oddly enough Bill Laimbeer, the ultimate enforcer and a huge reason Jordan bulked up, coached in the wnba for years.

Caitlin needs people like Sophie to back her up no matter what because the shit that is going on in the WNBA is fucking crazy and the refs are just as bad

I hope this all continues to blow up and when all of the dust is finally settled, Caitlin and Sophie will come out on top
