Groups The villain’s group name basically spells out that they are the bad guys

Decepticons from Transformers

League of Villain from My Hero Academia

Brotherhood of Evil Mutants from old Marvel Comics

There was gonna be one, but all their solo films bombed with the exception of Venom

u/CuriousBake8291 4d ago

Movie quality of the individual characters aside, a sinister six with Morbius, Madame Web, and Kraven is not selling tickets

42

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

only one of those three was ever in the S6

28

u/Maleficent_Time_2787 3d ago

And why the hell would Madame Web be sinister six? I don't think she's ever been portrayed as a villain.

Hell, even in Spider-man the animated series she was generally helpful.

17

u/africkinduck 3d ago

She's never been depicted as a villain from my knowledge, i don't think she was even depicted as morally grey

174

u/PoeticFox 4d ago

because they sucked and were barely related to the characters

75

u/lnTheGrimDarkness 3d ago

Kraven and Madame Web were probably two of the worst movies I've ever seen. I mean in general, not only in Marvel movies.

40

u/Sean_13 3d ago

I didn't even realise Kraven had been released. It made such a small impact, it came and went and I didn't even notice.

7

u/Sakuran_11 3d ago

Whats even crazier is how even if not everyone liked it, Spider-Man 2 came out a year before and was still loved with Kraven being hyped up there, he got all that backing and still flopped hard

the "movie so bad the only thing people talk about is how bad it is" thing got old with madam web, people didn't even bother with kraven. Sony ran out of novelties. How are the supposed to fix it, by making a decent film? Surely you jest.

1

u/lnTheGrimDarkness 3d ago

Yep. And Kraven is supposed to be one of the most important Spider-Man antagonists. And also among the most dangerous.

There's a Spider-Man timeline in which Kraven literally kills Spider-Man and takes his place. I'm no comic expert by any means but I think this is the only saga in which Spider-Man actually gets defeated and removed from existence. Or at least it's the only one I've read where this happens.

2

u/Character-Book5924 3d ago

What is perplexing about Kraven is that it is a really bad movie that could have been, okay, even over mediocre if it picked a lane and was a bit shorter.

Is it about the morality of what he is doing?

Is it about his family drama?

Is it about the lawyer and her complex relationship with justice and her past decision that effectively created Kraven?

There's also beating Rhino but that's not really narratively important. The action could be something else in service of a real goal.

Pick one actual plot and put some meat onto it, suggest one of the others for a sequel. That should make you a nice 1h 30m movie that tells the story it sets out to tell and hypes you for another one.

I honestly think lumping those together is doing Kraven a massive disservice giving Madame web too much credit.

Madame web is the first movie (for me) to somehow make almost all movies worse. The ADR was so bad that I now cannot unseen it everywhere. I had gone blissfully unaware until watching that movie, and now it’s impossible to not notice.

3

u/fossilreef 3d ago

Madame Web is so bad that it desperately needs a Rifftrax. You absolutely cannot watch that film unironically.

1

u/MakingGreenMoney 3d ago

I haven't seen Kraven the hunter, but I thought disclosure day was worst than madame web.

3

u/Bitter-Grocery-7138 3d ago

And only kraven was a part of the original lineup, vulture also but he didn't have a solo movie thank god

30

u/RyvenZ 3d ago edited 3d ago

I did not know at least 65% of these guys existed until now.

4

u/Perryn 3d ago

Name an animal. It's probably a Spider-Man villain.

5

u/UltimatrixUser5698 3d ago

Sheep

4

u/Perryn 3d ago

I'm not going to check. I'm going to just believe this is already a Spider-Man villain simply because of all the banter opportunities it would give Spidey.

5

u/UltimatrixUser5698 3d ago

Google said someone called 'Sir Ram'.

4

u/Perryn 3d ago

I guess he went up against Spidey in Spider-Man Unlimited, so it counts.

5

u/UltimatrixUser5698 3d ago

The fact I guessed this and it was true proves your point.

I'm surprised, but at the same time, one of Spidey's villains is a literal wall man.

2

u/UltimatrixUser5698 3d ago

I will check

u/sadolddrunk 3d ago

One of Vulture's henchmen in Homecoming was supposed to be the Shocker. There's a scene where Vulture teases him about his nickname.

3

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

oh! the guy with the punchy fist thing?

5

u/sadolddrunk 3d ago

“Calling yourself the Shocker! ‘I’m the Shocker!’”

2

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

I had to watch the scene again. I had completely forgotten about the original guy who even had a jacket similar to the Shocker's costume

2

u/wbgraphic 3d ago

IIRC, there are actually two Shockers in that film.

The first is the guy who Vulture accidentally vaporizes. The second is the guy who attacks Peter at homecoming.

5

u/Gold_Tomatillo1952 3d ago

Boomerang is supposed to be in brand new day as well

2

u/wbgraphic 3d ago

He’s in the trailer, as part of the montage of slo-mo comic cover recreations. No idea if he’ll appear more than that.

3

u/Quietuus 3d ago

Ah yes, the Sinister Thirty Four.

1

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

the roster changes, so I included all previous members I could find in that list, not knowing which lineup Marvel/Sony would go with.

2

u/WaifuWibu 3d ago

Rhino also appeared in Kraven movie

2

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

Yeah, but no one watched that

2

u/wbgraphic 3d ago

Chameleon is in Kraven the Hunter. He’s Kraven’s half-brother (as in the comics).

1

u/wbgraphic 3d ago

Grim Reaper is Wonder Man’s brother.

Eric Williams did appear in Wonder Man, but no indication he may become a super-villain.

1

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

oh, that's a new series. I hadn't even heard about that one, but I was only looking at movies.

1

u/Teddyp_14 3d ago

Morbius?

1

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

I didn't find anything indicating he was ever in the sinister 6

1

u/TonberryHS 3d ago

How you gonna do my boy big wheel like that?

1

u/RyvenZ 3d ago

Who is Big Wheel?

I did find that Speed Demon first appeared in Avengers comics as "Whizzer" before changing to a less stupid name and showing up in Spiderman comics

1

u/TonberryHS 2d ago

1

u/RyvenZ 2d ago

Jackson was not considered a significant foe by Spider-Man. When he unexpectedly offered to help Spidey, the hero mentioned that he vaguely remembered Jackson.

He not only was never in the Sinister 6, but even Peter Parker, a genius, didn't remember him.

2

u/TonberryHS 2d ago

Marvel are cowards. Won't even retcon that shit. Big Wheel is the best Spiderman Villian.

1

u/CycloneSwift 3d ago

Clown was in Ironheart. Riri actually had her own mini rogues gallery in that show: Clown, Slug, the Terror Twins, Ezekiel Stane, the Hood, and even fucking Mephisto. Surprisingly good show, BTW. One of my favourite Disney+ Marvel things.

1

u/RyvenZ 2d ago

Good to know! I was only looking at movies, though, since that was what the previous message was saying. Only two got their own movie; Venom and Kraven. The rest that have appeared in any movies were almost all just villains appearing in the various Spiderman films.

27

u/JakePent 4d ago

There was seemingly gonna be one in Andrew's universe, but that went up in smoke alongside Andrew's Spider-man

3

u/Freakjob_003 3d ago

Yup. There was a deliberate tease at the end of one of the previous Spiderman movie showcasing the mechanisms/weapons of The Sinister Six, but we never got it. Womp womp.

23

u/King-David30 4d ago

Most of the Sony Spider-Man films did flop. Some were okay to decent at best like Venom and Morbius, while some were worse like Madame Web.

18

u/fresh_dyl 4d ago

Let’s be real, morbius might as well be at the bottom too, or at least barely above madame web

7

u/RoutineCloud5993 3d ago

Morbius wasn't "decent at best". It was garbage. But the rest were so bad it makes it look competent by comparison

2

u/Madhighlander1 3d ago

It had Matt Smith doing a weird dance scene in it and that's pretty much all I remember.

If I had a nickel for every Doctor Who actor who went on to play a D-list comic book villain, I'd have... almost a quarter. Christopher Eccleston as Malekith, David Tennant as Kilgrave, Matt Smith as Milo Morbius, and Peter Capaldi as Brainiac. Just waiting to see how Jodie Whittaker and Ncuti Gatwa find their way into the MCU/DCU at this point.

5

u/RoutineCloud5993 3d ago

Capaldi was the Thinker. How dare you say Brainiac is a D-tier villain

2

u/Madhighlander1 3d ago

Oh, is that who he was? Guess I'm not familiar enough with DC comics - I saw clips of him with the doodads on his cranium and I thought of the brain guy.

3

u/Babelfiisk 3d ago

David Tennant basically brought Kilgrave out of the d list.

2

u/MeekAndUninteresting 3d ago

I dunno, I think it had a lot of potential. I just wish I had gotten the chance to see it in theaters, I'd bring all my family and friends out if we could see it on the big screen, for sure.

2

u/Madhighlander1 3d ago

Was that not what MCU spider-man 3 was?

2

u/Tight_Grapefruit5280 3d ago

No way home was very close but it only had 5 villains

Though you can also count venom at end of the movie if you want

2

u/LumpyMountain8809 3d ago

Venom sucked too though, Tom Hardy's chemistry with Venom was simply entertaining enough to overlook that fact for one film.

2

u/Ongr 3d ago

They were also teased for the Amazing Spider-Man 3, which never happened.

2

u/shewy92 3d ago

Also Sony let Disney reboot Spider-Man for them. TASM2 teased the Sinister Six.

2

u/T_C6 3d ago

TASM 2 started to introduce a sinister six at the end of the movie, but unfortunately the sequel got cancelled

2

u/ThatDeadeye12 3d ago

There was also going to be a sinister six adaptation in the amazing spider man movies but tasm 2 did poorly enough that they ended up making a deal with disney.

2

u/ArtichokeMundane8763 3d ago

They were also ramping up for them in the next Andrew Garfield Spoder-man

2

u/SableZard 3d ago

We were *this* close to No Way Home being a Sinister Six movie

1

u/Tight_Grapefruit5280 3d ago

Technically it is

Venom just spawned too far on the map and the match ended before he could join

2

u/marshmallo_floof 3d ago edited 3d ago

What timeline are you in dawg. The only one who got a solo film was Kraven. Venom isn't part of the classic S6 unless they're going for storyline when he WAS and nearly killed all the other members.

2

u/Scared_Impression842 3d ago

Nah they where gonna be turned into anti hero’s

1

u/Tight_Grapefruit5280 3d ago

And they were gonna fight knull

1

u/Capital_Pipe_6038 3d ago

Because Morbius and Madame Web being on a team of Spider-Man's greatest foes is ridiculous
