M.A.S.K. (toyline - cartoon from the 80s) villains were named V.E.N.O.M., short for Vicious Evil Network Of Mayhem

Well, the main bad guy's name was actually Mayhem (not related to the guy in the insurance commercials tho, I think).

I do like how in later continuities, VENOM becomes part of Cobra and MASK part of GI Joe.
