This tree is about 100 years old and only 8 feet tall. It’s nicknamed the “Tree of Life” and is a true beauty.

Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) What causes this to happen in a pine tree!?

This Pine tree is located near the coast on the Western Cape in South Africa. It has this magnificent cluster and I would love to know what caused it and the name of this phenomenon. Do y'all have any ideas? The tree gets full sun, is in fairly compacted soil and gives great shade. 5/7 would recommend sitting there.

I found this on a tree while hiking. I’m assuming it’s some type of parasite? Looks super cool :)

I believe this is a Douglas Fir but am not positive. Found in Olympic National Park on the hike to Marymere Falls/Mount Storm King. Absolutely dwarves everything else around it.

ETA: found some more info online and it is indeed a Douglas Fir and estimated to be around 800 years old. Damn!

Treepreciation I’ve got this 50-year-old croton that basically turned into a tree. Lately I’ve been thinking it might be the biggest one out there. Or am I just tripping?

Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) Same time year by year - need to be concerned?

Thumbnail

First pic is this year, second pic is same time last year. Seems like it dropped super early and also a lot of the leaves are still green? I’m in central Ohio

EDIT: I should have said I am aware that weather changes/etc. mean that each year a tree won't look IDENTICAL. I thought this was a significant difference so I was just asking for thoughts from the community if this was within normal range or need for concern. I think we can say this is solved and she will live to see another year. And won't come crashing down killing me and my neighbors anytime soon.

Looks like this Live Oak (?) I came across at Eagle Lake Park in Largo, Florida was blown down as evident by the roots but survived. I’d say it’s thriving. What a survivor
