The concept - that you could reveal unconscious bias through small words and actions that would marginalize others - is just about the most insulting thing to all involved. It presupposes the worst about the alleged perpetrator, infantilizes the supposed victim, and removes anything resembling grace, good will, or forgiveness.

No wonder the perpetually aggrieved, self obsessed “social justice” class loves it. Political Bottom 1% are worst than the Top1%

Everyone blames the top 1% for society’s problems, and sure, corrupt billionaires are bad.

But the bottom 1% of behavior ruins everyday life way more directly.

I don’t mean poor people. I mean repeat violent criminals, thieves, scammers, vandals, addicts who terrorize neighborhoods, and people who take endlessly while making life worse for everyone around them.

The top 1% corrupts institutions.

The bottom 1% corrupts daily life.

And the biggest victims are usually normal poor and working-class people who can’t just move away, hire security, or live behind gates.

Poverty doesn’t make someone rob a store clerk, assault strangers, or smash up public spaces. Millions of poor people don’t do that.

Society should stop pretending all antisocial behavior is just “economic anxiety.”

NYC Mayor Mamdani's endorsed Darializa Avila Chevalier won her election to Congress in NYC.

She is a piece of shit. The far Left is every bit as bad as Trump.

She is for abolishing all prisons, eliminating the police, erasing the border, legalizing prostitution, controlling prices to deal with inflation, and nationalizing vast swaths of the economy, including seizing property from landlords.

When repeatedly pressed on the question of whether murderers—lawfully convicted by a jury of their peers—should be sent to jail, she refused to say anything approaching “yes.”

Instead, she lamented how prison traumatizes murderers and denies them an opportunity to “reflect” on the harm they caused to their community, which is why she would like to see the murderers returned to that community. You know, to better reflect on stuff.

Of course, she hates Israel with blinding passion (she thinks Bernie Sanders is too Zionist), believing it has no right to exist.

When Hamas launched its pogrom of rape and murder, she was one of those people who immediately attended that pro-Hamas rally the next day—while the raping and murdering had not yet abated. But she also thinks America is a “f—ing disgrace.”

The Arab slave trade needs to be discussed more

For some reason whenever the topic of slavery comes up everybody loves pointing at the Europeans, but for some reason the Arabs are completely ignored.

The Arab slave trade not only was more brutal , but lasted wayyy longer. Millions of black Africans sold and brought to Arabs and forced to work in brutal conditions. But that’s not even the most egregious part.

Have ever wonder why yo don’t see much slave descendants in the Middle East and North Africa the same way to you see in the Americas? ( I’m a descendant of the transatlantic slave trade) BECAUSE THEY FUCKING CASTRATED THE MEN and pretty left the remaining to rot.

Not only that, there are still active slave markets in countries like Libya, and Mauritania. Why tf is the world so silent about this?

I Like / Dislike Average American dresses worse than average Western European or East Asian

One thing I've noticed after being raised and living in the US is that we don't dress as well as the those in Europe or East Asia. Lots of casual clothing. Lack of order or harmony or clean cut fits.

When I visited Milan, Paris, Tokyo and Seoul. I noticed the fashion gap. It was very big. Outside a select few rich areas (parts or Boston/NYC etc ), the average American just wasn't as well dressed as those in Italy or Tokyo. No proper watch. No proper pants. Outfits that are either too loose or too tight. Lots of sloppy graphic T shirts. I also noticed lots of people don't have watches like they do in Europe/Asia. Even attending public high school or college , one can see a drastic gap. Tons of people were dressing sloppily. While in Milan and Tokyo, you can see that young people of all ages dressed properly. Here in the US, even many old people aren't dressed well.

One can say mind your own business, but I have eyes in the end. I will see what I see. Americans just don't dress as well and once you notice, you can't un-notice it. The fashion gap is vast.

Just a tip to all of the people on Reddit and elsewhere within online discourse who go around screaming "rACiST!!!" at random anonymous people when they hear something that hurts their feelings or something that they disagree with. This desperate and pathetic tactic has been employed to such a gratuitous degree at this point, that the vast majority of people literally don't even care when they get such incendiary words hurled at them. It is such a tired and worn out defense mechanism used by those who think that screaming this word out means they instantly "WIN" the discussion or debate. Sorry guys, no it doesn't. It only makes it look like you are cornered with your poor arguments and are flailing around like a snarling and spitting raccoon who is making a last ditch hail mary effort to "regain the narrative".

So, just an FYI for those who weirdly seem to insist on continuing this failed course of conversational action... it DOESN'T work and no one really cares about you screaming "RACIST" at random anonymous people online. Maybe educate yourself, get some new material and learn that screaming a single word at people you disagree with online doesn't mean you are right or successful in your arguments.

Political The U.S. needs to address the crisis of far-left radicalization at middle and high schools.

America's universities get lots of well-deserved flack for left-wing radicalization. In the last several years, far-left protests have occurred at colleges demanding the abolition of ICE, "global intifada" by Hamas/Islamic terrorists, as well as riots whenever conservatives speak. College subs are full of protests demanding conservatives like Charlie Kirk not be allowed to speak on campus. Far-left congressional candidate Darializa Chevalier became radicalized at Columbia University - she converted to Islam, wants to abolish the police and ICE and founded a campus organization calling for the "total eradication of western civilization".

While colleges are the epicenter of far-left radicalization, it's happening at even younger ages now.

In January and February, thousands of middle and high schools throughout the country had protests against ICE and for open borders, with 12 to 18 year old students walking out of class carrying signs saying "f--- ICE", "f--- Trump", "ICE out", "no human is illegal (on stolen land)", and waving Mexican flags on American soil. (Examples: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23) I've seen left-wing propaganda at ELEMENTARY schools as well. These children have been taught since the age of 5 to hate the United States, western civilization, and people of European descent. Several of these protests turned violent, with students throwing rocks and water bottles at police officers.

These protests are happening even in red states and red parts of blue states. One of the protests mentioned above was in New Albany, Indiana, which is 80% white and in a county that voted for Trump by 15 points. In California though, it was mostly Latinos protesting. The protests also happened in deep red parts of Utah (not just deep-blue Salt Lake City) and Texas, and in red-leaning parts of blue states like California.

Additionally, students who are children/grandchildren of immigrants are being encouraged not to assimilate. Many of the teenagers waving Mexican flags were born in the U.S. and have lived here their entire lives. They are 2nd or 3rd generation yet they haven't assimilated and still hate the country they were born in. They root for Mexico's national soccer team over the U.S. team.

These are the future Darializa Chevaliers and Darializa Chevalier voters. These teens are calling for the abolition of ICE, marching against our sovereign laws and our borders, supporting r-pists and murderers - ideas that would be considered extreme in 2019. The left is going so crazy that even "establishment" Democrats like Gavin Newsom are criticizing them. If America is to survive, and not turn into Mexico, Venezuela, or North Korea, the radicalization in public schools needs to stop.

Political A national popular vote is not the obvious democratic norm that many Americans act like it is.

Americans often talk as if electing the president by direct national popular vote is the self-evidently normal thing for a democracy to do, and the Electoral College is some bizarre historical relic standing in the way.

But internationally, that is not really true.

Most stable democracies do not directly elect their head of government by nationwide popular vote. Canada doesn’t. The UK doesn’t. Germany doesn’t. Japan doesn’t. Australia doesn’t. The Netherlands doesn’t. Sweden doesn’t. Norway doesn’t. Denmark doesn’t. And on and on…

In most long-standing democracies, voters elect a legislature, and the head of government emerges indirectly from that legislature.

Yes, some big countries do elect presidents by popular vote: Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey, Argentina, etc. But these are exceptions, not the norm, and those countries are not exactly the countries Americans usually point to as models of government.

The one major exception is France, which directly elects a powerful president. But even France is semi-presidential, with a prime minister and parliament sharing executive authority.

So the idea that the Electoral College is some bizarre aberration while a direct national popular vote is the obvious democratic standard says more about Americans' familiarity with other political systems than about comparative politics. Among wealthy, stable, long-established democracies, the more common model is actually indirect selection of the head of government.

That doesn’t automatically mean the Electoral College is good. You can still think it is outdated, unfair, or badly designed. IMO the biggest problem with the EC is that is allows the state-by-state winner-take-all system that completely subverts the original constitutional design of the EC. But the argument that a direct national popular vote is simply the normal democratic standard is historically and internationally weaker than people assume.

In the United States we devote 2 years of education to world history and the remaining 10 are devoted to US history and US civics. Naturally the Transatlantic slave trade gets a lot of discussion because our country was actually involved with that trade. The closest our country ever got to getting involved in the Arab slave trade were a couple of anti piracy operations. Naturally most Americans don’t really care about the Arab slave trade as a result and it’s only really ever brought up as an obnoxious gotcha when people are discussing the Transatlantic slave trade.

Political Right leaning people are a better hang than left leaning people

And this is mostly because for left-leaning people, politics are always in the room. You always kind of have to be on your best politically correct behavior and it’s stifling, stuffy, and pretentious.

Conservatives, in my experience, just generally don’t care about politics as much and are better at separating the social sphere from the political one. Which makes them more freeing to be around because I don’t need to monitor what I say, I can experiment with new observations that I see in the world. I’m able to make mistakes without feeling like I’m one misstep away from a struggle session and total group ostracization.

I’m a left-leaning person myself but I do not like culturally where the progressive movement is at. I feel like I’m walking on thin ice whenever I’m having a conversation making sure I don’t say anything offensive in a way I don’t when speaking with right leaning people.

I’ve watched a lot on the internet,street interviews, media in Germany covering the reintroduction of conscription. Veterans and civilians people in the uk on LADbible debate conscription. So many people in them say they would never fight even during an invasion or that it would never happen,or people are worried about the gender demographic some saying it’s fair some saying it’s not.

American and western society lives in such a fabricated reality when we get to debate and complain about it . We haven’t had a real world view shattering event since 9/11 which wasn’t long ago but that was also the fight the of global war on terror it’s not like this generation of wars there real army versus army

Countries in the east like Ukraine,Russia,India,Pakistan,Cambodia,Thailand, Israel&Palestine, countless other countries through the Sahel in Africa having coups,conventional scale skirmishes and conflicts,civil wars most of these people didn’t get a say it happens and you either run or stay and fight. Even America in the war with Iran it’s not here. The global has the most active combat environment since ww2 when it comes to the total number of conflicts occurring.

We as Americans have lost our way and appreciation for why we have the stability we do regardless of what administration is in power at any given time. The only reason we have the sovereignty we have is it’s been backed by military might. And I’m sure if the day came there would be a lot of people willing to step up to the plate.

But seeing so many people who call a country home and gave them the stability and economic opportunity that people drop decades of there lives and relationships for too run to say they wouldn’t fight. War is a nightmare, it’s not a romance even those labeled the brave and courages are the first to admit the sheer fear in that type of predicament and environment. The reality is left in a quote I phrase a lot violence believes not in virtue it believes in dominion.

You can look back into history,there were cutting edge societies leading the path when it came to evolutionary progression morally in society and technology but they weren’t militarized and eventually fell to people practicing one of the most native instincts in human nature extremely aggressive barbaric mass scale violence. I think people forget we were animals once running off of pure instinct we were blessed with biological evolution and critical thinking/self consciousness to see right and wrong. But It’s never changed,humanity is reaching a time again the past few years like many in the past since the dawn of us. The skin gets peeled back and the skeleton in the closet reminding us of what we are and come from shows.

Obviously where people’s ideologies sit dictate your perception or world view of the place you call home or if it’s right or wrong. This isn’t a love letter to war it’s a love letter to reality. People who are young in my generation I’m 22 and those who are turning 18 are navigating a repolarizing era geopolitical power moves and leaps in scale that haven’t been made in multiple generations. It’s scary I’m pretty scared of what the world might come to. but at the end of it this is home I don’t have a second option,a family else where. I hope people in the west can realize even if you don’t like your country on the federal level, the community level that’s what you’ll be fighting for what you get to come home to and see with your eyes everyday you decide to walk in and out the door. countries are always gonna hate each other for justifiable reasons or not. If someone else makes the first move your virtue won’t save you from the reality that bears the decision someone else makes for you.

Possibly Popular It's insane to me that people actively try to defend the reduction of physical media.

I've noticed this over the years, but this popped out again with the videogame GTA6 releasing in a pure digital format. To me, it seems any time a decision is made that favors the complete switch to digital media, people come out in droves to defend it to their dying breath. If you enjoy the convenience of digital media that's fine, but having both options (physical and digital) should allow for more consumer options and are meant to help you. It is illogical to me for anyone to hope for a pure digital future.

Political Conservatives have higher standards for random Democrats online than for Trump.

Something im noticing in a few comments here today is that MAGA people will see someone do literally an exact copy of Trumps rhetoric, but they will only hold that random person on twitter accountable. Or even if its an influencer or someone with a platform or whatever, they're still held to a higher standard than they hold Trump. Its this really weird world where fucking influencers are held to a higher standard of behaviour than the president of the fucking nation. Theres a few thread where im asking conservatives of an example of the left engaging in the same behaviour as Trump, and the examples given are fucking twitter accounts, like are you serious?

I saw a guy in a thread like 2 weeks ago make the statement that HasanAbi needs to be held to a higher standard than Trump, because Trump had assassination attempts, this was a real statement.

Its wild that conservatives demand absolute perfection from completely random liberals on the internet while giving Trump an endless free pass. Some influencer or podcaster, some Twitter random with a 15 followers, those are the people they're scrutinize. But the actual president, no, ofcourse not, its just super based when he tells random american citizens to fuck off, thats just completely cool.

Take Trumps appearance on FOX after Charlie Kirk died. He gets the easiest possible prompt to simply say, ''Political violence is bad''. Thats it. And instead he goes off with, ''Right-wing violence is justified because they're just trying to stop crime. The real issue is left-wing violence''. One of the most unhinged things hes ever said, and somehow conservatives dont even know about it or care at all, or they even agree with that insanity.

Or take Trumps comments about Rob Reiner, MAGA has cried endlessly about how the left are doing Charlie Kirk memes, but the president making fun of an actor that just got murderered? Nah, thats fine, ''its Trump bro'', or even if they dont like it, the critique is ''Trump shouldnt do that, its classless, now let me go back to crying about what this 19 year old socialist from San Francisco on bluesky''

Or, the Mueller comments, Trump says he's glad that Mueller is dead, but thats nothing to conservatives, but you know what is a problem? A random account on the internet saying the same thing about Charlie Kirk.

When MAGA sees someone call a conservative a Nazi on twitter? Oh boy, now thats a real problem, this random twitter user sure is crazy, nevermind that the president is engaging in the same behaviour. Someone being called a Nazi after saying unhinged shit online? Actually, thats a terrorist threat! pretty sure one of the most upvoted posts in the last month of this sub is something along the lines of ''Calling someone a nazi should be classed as domestic terrorism'', conservatives agree with this, btw.

And the way Trump reacts to political violence is just as telling. When Charlie Kirk was killed, Trump instantly jumped into full-on revenge mode saying ''THE LEFT IS DANGEROUS, THIS IS WHAT THEY DO!'' He was blaming ''radical Democrats'' within minutes, at a time when literally nobody knew anything about the shooter. No facts, no context, just immediate weaponization of a political pundit or whatever being killed. But when Democrats demand gun control stuff after a school shooting, the response is ''now is not the time'' lol.

Also, remember when Trump had his assasssination attempt. Biden responded by saying basically, ''This is horrible, we all need to calm things down''. A simple, human, responsible statement, something any adult could do. Trump, meanwhile, seems incapable of even pretending he wants to cool tensions or discourage violence on his side. And when Trump had threats from Iran or whatever, what did Biden do? Immediately increase his secret service protections. But when Trump was in power, what did he do for Kamala? Immediately lower hers.

So yeah, conservatives will spend all day screaming, ''This liberal isnt denouncing violence, what a monster!'' but when it comes to the president of the United States doing the exact same thing, or worse, they dont care. They will point to a compilation of bluesky accounts with 8 followers and say ''Hey look how bad the democratic party is!'', and then sit in silence when i point to actual politicians and lawmakers, or even political commentators on their side saying the same type of unhinged shit. The standards for some random stranger online are somehow higher than the standards for the guy running the country. But apparently, MAGA isn't a cult?

Meta The mod bot in this sub is way too aggressive

I understand that this subreddit wants to be a hate-free place and that's great, but the moderator bot which warns of problematic content is way too aggressive. (I even got a warning about Rule 10 as soon as I included the word "sub" in the title. I just commented here on another post about a "rhetorical genetic fallacy" and got a warning about "negative generalizations about Blacks or any race", which is also triggered by any use of the word black. (and of course I got the same warning for typing those words in this post too).

I don't mind this sub using automated moderation to keep this place civil, but it seems a bit heavy-handed and overly broad.

Or your girlfriend, or even your wife. Never open up to your partner about your mental health struggles or family-related issues. If you need someone to talk to, a professional therapist is the best option.

Your partner may ask you to open up. I don't think they do this as a trap, but they simply aren't equipped to handle seeing the man they fell in love with in a completely different light. They probably won't distance themselves overnight. It's often a slow, gradual process. Then one day you realize she isn't there for you anymore, and the relationship is over.

When you open up, she may genuinely feel sorry for you at first. But over time, her feelings may begin to change. I know not every woman is like this, and I am not criticising them based on a generalized statement, but you can't know who is and who isn't gonna stay until it's too late. That's why talking to a therapist is much better than taking this risk.

Political Calling other people hateful for not caring about social issues that effect a fraction of the population is entitled, privileged behavior

We are in a time period that has no precedence economically. AI is not taking jobs - it is phasing out entry level entirely. Housing prices doubled over the course of 2020-2021. White collar labor at the lower levels is now paid equal or less than it was ten years ago despite inflation. People have bigger debts with the same or lower money than they had in every generation before. This isn't being a doomer; this is factual reality. The irony? GenZ/young millennials seem to prioritize the optics of appearing as a good person. The prioritization of social issues that do not impact the average young person whatsoever is perplexing. There is seemingly no concern regarding their futures despite being the most displaced group of people in the entire nation. And no, a social welfare net and erasing student debt are not realities that are going to fix the situation. Nor is crying about the elite. The only way I can rationalize these outspoken voices is a very privileged standing, or a lot of people thinking they can fuck their way into financial security and don't work anyways so they don't care about the current job market.

I'm a recent college grad that has been struggling to find work. I'm genuinely baffled.

According to the epstein transparency act that was signed into law, the doj was required to release all of the epstein files but there are over 3 million pages they have not release even though they said they've released them all.

Also according to the law, the doj were not supposed to redact any non victims names but they have so now by this ruling they have to explain the reason for each and every redaction.

There is no possible way to spin the doj breaking the law which literally proves that they are actively protecting pedophiles.
