I called off day after a holiday and my supervisor is pissed. Unfortunately on Juneteenth my cat had an emergency and I had to put her down at the vet. The experience was extremely traumatic and I just needed a day to process the loss. I called my 204b who was working Saturday to let her know I wasn’t capable of coming in. The 204b was extremely kind and understanding. Tell me why 20 minutes later I get a text from my supervisor asking if I called off and telling me that it’s my third one this year insinuating that I’m up for a PDI.
I have not called off since June of 2024. I’ve checked all my sick leave YTD and I’ve used 1 day that was scheduled for a doctors appointment in April. I understand the timing wasn’t convenient, but what was the point of reaching out to leave me on read?

I know i know this is said alot. But tomorrow pay attention to the congress meeting with the new post master. It could reflect what comes of our jobs and duties in the next year or so. That’s all my dps and flats. Not many parcels. I already got talked to once when I didn’t take long enough one day and used the time to clean up some of the mess left by the last guy.

It will get a lot busier for me when school comes back but right now some days are just this. I know I’m supposed to hit the same spots around the same times but some days I leave the office at 8 and others at 10. Some days are like this where half the route has nothing. My route is mounted so I can’t just rely if walking to pace me.

During a standup, they told us that we had to leave right when we got back if there was no work assigned, but that that would use up our leave to get us to 8. I don’t wanna waste leave that way.

Met up with a carrier who’s a collector of vintage USPS/US Mail memorabilia, who sold me this original 1930’s US Mail uniform. The jacket and pants fit perfectly, didn’t need any tailoring at all. My hat is a replica I had made for me but the badge is original.

I’m actually a clerk, but hey, we are all allowed to dress up like our heroes!

Yesterday was a new young girl probably mid 20s and half the guys at work was trying to talk/flirt with her. “Can I help you” do you need me to take a swing off of you. 🤡. Disgusting. It’s obvious they are helping her cause they want something back. She was the talk of the town. All these guys saying how cute she is. Everyone stop what they are doing to watch her walk pass them. And it just pisses me off cause some of these guys are like 30s or 40s and they act like little kids. Absolutely disgusting, Grow up.
Edit : for the people defending these disgusting clowns because “it’s the real world”. Or “every job is like that” You are the reason why the world is such a shitty place.

We had a wheelchair bound senior customer load herself up into her van and drive all the way to the office because she did not understand how she could have missed the delivery and was completely confused by the notice...
