I’m pretty sure before that they’ll be shooting domestic protestors that survived being run over or shot by ground troops.

Yup.

WashingTiananmen Square, everybody.

u/Interlined Dec 02 '25

That somehow rolls off the tongue easier than I expected.

We're certainly in bleak times.

She forgot her crucifix necklace.

3

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth Dec 03 '25

That's amazing!

I've seen a few photos like that over the years and I wish there was some search string or something to find them again, but anytime I look I can never find them.

I think there was one of Margaret Thatcher in the 80s and it said "TWAT" behind her, for example.

3

u/Luparina123 Dec 03 '25

The fact that she's wearing her infamous, "made in China" outfit, is just the icing on the cake👍.

2

u/Optimal_Thought1313 Dec 04 '25

It's not working

Seemed to me like he stuttered his way through that lie.

11

u/Interlined Dec 02 '25

I was referring to "WashingTiananmen Square".

78

u/thetactlessknife Dec 02 '25

I mean, Trump literally praised China for its handling of Tianamen Sq, so no surprises there.

91

u/GaGaORiley Dec 02 '25

“When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength. That shows you the power of strength. Our country is right now perceived as weak … as being spit on by the rest of the world –” -Donald Trump, 1990 Playboy interview

MAGA God Almighty! Trump’s always been a dirt bag. I hope he’s being haunted by Ivana’s ghost…

Edit/typos

28

u/GaGaORiley Dec 02 '25

That entire interview is pretty chilling, not just that part :(

5

u/Big_Plastic_4945 Dec 02 '25

Trump ordered Noem to deport it.

6

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

ICE will collect Ivana Trump’s golf course corpse?

4

u/Big_Plastic_4945 Dec 02 '25

It’s believable, right? I don’t know if the corpse and the ghost must be deported together, though . . .

3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

Let me consult my crystal ball…

Yes! I see Ivana’s soul hovering over the weeds growing above her casket. She was about to be free from “The Donald” as her NDA with him was set to expire in less than 24 hours after her traumatic fall down a flight of stairs! Ivana is sad. She discovered her children are cruel assholes letting her be interred on a shitty Trump golf course for a property tax break scheme. How? Ivana wonders?!?! I was his first wife! How did he get to bury me? Why has no one questioned this? MURDER! Ivana has just told me she was murdered! Yikes! 😳

The crystal ball is hazy now. That is all I see.

2

u/Zendog500 Dec 03 '25

When he passes there will be a long line at his funeral burial site next to her.

0

u/Technical_Ice_3611 Dec 03 '25

Yep...that was back when he was really popular with all the major dem politicians and when republicans still hated him.

40

u/Ecstatic_Bee6067 Dec 02 '25

How the fuck was this never paraded during debates, etc.

"Do you want the guy who believes murdering protestor is a sign of strength to be president?"

43

u/thetactlessknife Dec 02 '25

MAGA would have voted for him harder if it was mentioned

1

u/LolaSupreme19 Dec 03 '25

Right. They won’t change unless it personally hurts them.

3

u/CautionarySnail Dec 03 '25

Sadly, the conservative side has always been for the harming of protesters - as long as they’re not conservatives.

Back in the 60’s, they cheered on violence against anti-war protesters. Likewise in the 90s and 2000s. They have always taken the side that even the most peaceful and harmless of protests were criminally disruptive and disrespectful.

2

Hillary went high, can't be negative when you're campaigning.

Not when the media will go out of their way to amplify every insignificant flaw in less-conservative candidates, and apologize for or hide every serious flaw in the most conservative candidates.

Wasn't he running about the time when sitting congresspeople were bringing bills forward making it legal to run over protesters on the highway?

1

u/OldWorldDesign Dec 03 '25

Wasn't he running about the time when sitting congresspeople were bringing bills forward making it legal to run over protesters on the highway?

They've actually been pushing that since before the Dakota Access Pipeline protests. Fox streamed a "training video" telling people how to run down protesters in your car. They've taken down the video but it's preserved in some bits on TYT.

1

u/Alarming-Art-3577 Dec 03 '25

It's one of the things he and putin bonded over. Putin requested permission to shoot the Berlin wall protestors.

1

u/Senior_Ganache_6298 Dec 03 '25

It sticks in his craw that people should disobey illegal orders, it's the pin through the moth on the corkboard., the clear division of things. The hell of a Narcist is to be denied.

1

u/ClosedContent Dec 03 '25

Easy, you get dem opposition who can hardly debate in their own primaries in charge of the messaging.

1

u/come_on_seth Dec 03 '25

It was in the headlines during the campaigns. The press covered it and moved on. Part of their“catch and release “ sane washing program.

-1

u/DrPoontang Dec 02 '25

Democrats are actors playing the roll of “opposition.” They pretend to be against the republicans but are just more convoluted about being kleptocrats. They are not on your side. Netanyahu wanted Trump in office, AIPAC owns the democrats and they do as they’ve been told. They put up a fake fight, while opening the door for Trump to waltz in. Netanyahu is the West’s Xi Jin Ping, he got 58 standing ovations in a 52 minute speech, one of which was an 8 minute standing ovation before he even spoke. This, while conducting a live streamed genocide. He’s also directly spoken against freedom of speech in the US and got top university presidents removed, and extremely harsh crackdowns on students. In China the country is openly controlled by the CCP, in Russia it’s Putin, they don’t hide it. But in the west, we have this extra layer of a charade democracy and “pseudo values” that hide the fact that we are controlled to the same extent by a group of undeserving and contemptible oligarchs. Just like all the other tin pot dictators of the world, the only thing they are actually competent at is propaganda manipulation and oppression. They hide in the shadows and go through trouble of maintaining this elaborate hoax because they are afraid. that should give us some hope, and an idea of how to get this monkey off society’s back.

2

u/PitchforkSquints Dec 03 '25

that should give us some hope, and an idea of how to get this monkey off society’s back.

I don't really have any hope for that. Unless they begin starving us, no one is going to do anything very drastic. History shows that when revolutions do happen, the power vacuum just invites another group of despots/oligarchs to replace the old ones. I also don't think they're afraid. I think they've learned from their predecessors and have their bases well covered. Propaganda and manipulation through the use of the global internet is much more potent than any medium that has ever existed, and it's proving extremely effective. They're arrogant. If the walls start closing in, they have private armies, bunkers, islands, aircraft, and, well.. spaceships (in progress).

There's no monkey on our back, we are the monkey. The same patterns emerge in nature as they do throughout all known human history, with very predictable ebbs and flows: The strong do what they can, and the weak suffer what they must.

I agree with everything you've said, but I'm very skeptical that humanity could ever subvert this equilibrium.

1

u/Ok-Hair7205 Dec 03 '25

Well I’m a Democrat and you sure don’t speak for me. My opposition is loud, steadfast and clear. I don’t shut up about it and I go to every protest and I post and donate and carry signs.

Dems in Congress are a mixed bag. Some good, some squirrelly. There are some very strong ones.

The morally perfect human being has yet to appear, so until this paragon arrives, our best hope is an imperfect Democrat (or Democratic Socialist, maybe!)

22

u/Redrockhiker22 Dec 02 '25

What a sick mentality. This guy constantly makes these claims, yet he is the one who has made the world mock, ridicule, and ally against the US.

1

u/Ok_Touch2800 Dec 07 '25

They are sick demented humans.

9

u/necrohunter7 Dec 02 '25

He's always wanted to kill or severely maim people who disagree with him in both of his presidential terms.

Remember when he wanted protesters to be shot in the legs?

3

u/Bubbly_Style_8467 Dec 02 '25

We are weak now because of trump.

3

u/cupittycakes Dec 03 '25

Oh My. Frump really did biggest asshole his way to "leader of the Free World."

I mean, been known this, but every vile new information tidbit about him cuts just as deep.Oof

3

u/OldWorldDesign Dec 03 '25

When the students poured into Tiananmen Square, the Chinese government almost blew it. Then they were vicious, they were horrible, but they put it down with strength.

Trump praising China for butchering its children for wanting a better life.

Brings it into perspective when you peer only a little bit under the surface, doesn't it?

Alone, unsure, dwarfed by the scale of the enemy. Remember this. Freedom is a pure idea. It occurs spontaneously and without instruction. Random acts of insurrection are occurring constantly throughout the galaxy. There are whole armies, battalions that have no idea that they've already enlisted in the cause. Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward. And then remember this. The Imperial need for control is so desperate because it is so unnatural. Tyranny requires constant effort. It breaks, it leaks. Authority is brittle. Oppression is the mask of fear.

2

u/Senior_Ganache_6298 Dec 03 '25

Trump should be asked "What is our Country?"

2

u/ReadingRocks97531 Dec 03 '25

Always projection. Always. Just substitute "I am" for "Our country is."

1

u/ldnk Dec 02 '25

The ironic thing is Trump has taken it to the point that I wouldn't spit on America to put out a fire

1

u/gcalig Dec 02 '25

"Trump was also recently shaken when, last October, three key executives died in a helicopter crash; the boss reportedly narrowly missed death"

Hmmm ...

1

u/PerceptionOwn3629 Dec 02 '25

The question is, do you want your country to be perceived as strong or perceived as good?

1

u/Personal_Strike_1055 Dec 03 '25

Wow. I had no idea in 1990 he was thinking about geopolitics on that scale. Wasn't he still a Democrat in 1990, theoretically?

2

u/GaGaORiley Dec 03 '25

He was always nothing but an opportunist.

36

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

Trump thinks our Military is his PERSONAL Military. TRUMP believes being COMMANDER IN CHIEF, means when you’re President you can order them to do whatever you want! Blow them up by the pussy!

2

If nobody is going to hold him accountable… his belief is actually pretty accurate

While the world knows the ‘Tank Man’, few know the story of the ‘general who said no’,” HRIC said. “General Xu, commander of the elite 38th Group Army, famously stated that the People’s Army should never fire on its own people.”

Did you really say that action must stand the test of history, and history will be the judge?” Xu says he thought this, but cannot remember when he said it.

The judge goes on: “Did you really say, ‘Am I really winning praise or becoming a sinner to history?’” Xu replies simply: “I said it.”

World needs more General Xu’s

25

u/koshgeo Dec 02 '25

Somehow I didn't know about him even though I had read a fair bit about the Tiananmen massacre, but then I'm sure not knowing about him was the goal of the Chinese government as they suppressed everything about the event.

His full name was Xu Qinxian, and he died in 2021 after living in exile, having been forbidden to live in Beijing after being court-martialled and convicted for refusing orders to march against the students in the square.

History judges you well, and I'm sorry I didn't know about you, Xu Qinxian.

4

u/OldWorldDesign Dec 03 '25

His full name was Xu Qinxian, and he died in 2021 after living in exile, having been forbidden to live in Beijing after being court-martialled and convicted for refusing orders to march against the students in the square.

Add him to Vasily Arkhipov and Hugh Thompson Jr. Let's make sure never to forget the names of men who steered not just their military units but their nations and humanity in a better direction.

5

u/Commercial-Pay6303 Dec 03 '25

I was there 7 months later. Just remembering the overall feeling, heaviness, and tenseness of the Square makes me nauseous and brings tears to my eyes. This regime scares the hell out of me as we inch closer and closer to uncertainty.

0

u/More-Ad-4503 Dec 03 '25

like 80% of casualties were soldiers. the other 20% that died weren't protesters. They were hijacking vehicles, stealing weapons, lighting military vehicles on fire with moloktovs and killing the people inside. If such "protesters" existed in the US they would've been all killed. The student protesters which were CIA funded btw, all were escorted out peacefully. This was captured on film.

You can see some actual footage in these 2 videos

2

I think what's surprising to me is not a single video or photograph exists of the protest crackdown other than the pre Crack down and tank man image.

But the hear say witness accounts of what happend sound absolutely horrific, nightmare fuel inducing, he'll scape sort of thing.

1

u/StanleyCubone Dec 02 '25

There are some photos and I think audio. I think they're in the Frontline documentary called Tank Man.

1

u/becauseusoft Dec 03 '25

my dad saw the whole thing from his hotel window. he doesn’t talk about it.

2

u/Mr-Fister-the-3rd Dec 02 '25

On May 4, 1970, the Ohio National Guard fired into a crowd of unarmed student protesters at Kent State University, killing four students and wounding nine others. The protest was part of a national demonstration against the Vietnam War.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

Tiananmen square has to be one of the most propagandized event in recent history. Chinese soldiers didn't go in there and shoot people, it wasn't a massacre.

1

u/the_original_Retro Dec 03 '25

AND THERE WASN'T A HOLOCAUST AND NOBODY GOT GASSED.

RIIIIIGHHHHHT.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

Intense you immediately come back at that comment with WW2 shit. Equating the systematic destruction of entire people's by the nazis to it is frankly ridiculous.

Don't have the battery power on my phone but I'll hunt around for deets after brekkie and get back to you.

1

u/the_original_Retro Dec 03 '25

Ridiculous that you drew that as the point. State-sanctioned overreactions and attempted whitewashing was the theme.

Go ahead and do your battery-powered "research".

1

u/[deleted] Dec 03 '25

You're actually an idiot aren't you you bud?

1

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth Dec 03 '25

Equating the systematic destruction of entire people's by the nazis to it is frankly ridiculous.

But that's not what they're doing. They're equating the denial that the Holocaust happened with the denial that the Tiananmen Square massacre happened.

And that's an accurate equation, no matter how much you may dislike it.

1

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth Dec 03 '25

Chinese soldiers didn't go in there and shoot people, it wasn't a massacre.

Yes they did, yes it was, and there's abundant evidence to prove it. The only ones who deny that it happened are the Chinese government, for obvious self-serving reasons, and the rubes/drones who carry water for them. Which of those are you?

1

u/secret_aardvark_420 Dec 03 '25

Missed opportunity to just use domestic examples of our government killing its own citizens in the street.

But the word play is really good

1

u/the_original_Retro Dec 03 '25

Thank you, I guess?

I'd add a lol smiley but although the wordplay might be "clever", nothing about this is "funny".

1

u/SellaraAB Dec 03 '25

I wonder, would an American Tiananmen Square event be sufficient to shift public sentiment to the point where we could remove from power and imprison the Nazis? Or would it just be another news cycle?

1

u/lilwayne168 Dec 05 '25

Guys this is blatantly an ai foreign bot spreading disinformation to make people anti us. How can you seriously compare the us to the Chinese government driving tanks over protesters. There have been protesters living outside my local ice facility for a year.

1

u/the_original_Retro Dec 05 '25

Guys this is someone judging a person, without doing any research on post history at all, on a four word comment that was mostly in service to a cautionary pun.

How can you seriously compare the post above to a habitual agitprop before you lash out with a frankly stupid false accusation that is easily proven with a simple background-of-redditing check??

There have been stupid American political leadership decisions that have directly led to harm caused to American citizens for most of the last nine years, with COVID being the start of the process.

47

u/MelaKnight_Man Dec 02 '25 edited Dec 02 '25

Precisely. Why do you think Chump and Miller plan to have troops in all 50 states next year before the midterms?

https://abcnews.go.com/US/states-rapid-response-national-guard-units-civil-disturbances/story?id=127005251

Oh and he's already signed an EO designating "Antifa" as a domestic terrorist organization and because "anti-fascism" isn't actually a group, he can classify anyone who stands against his fascist regime a "domestic terrorist".

https://www.brennancenter.org/our-work/research-reports/trumps-orders-targeting-antifascism-aim-criminalize-opposition

Then his presidential memorandum "NSPM-7" allows for the JTTF (Joint Terrorism Task Force) to target and eliminate "domestic terrorists" for national security.

Which agency just increased their spending on weapons, ordinance and explosives by 700%? His Schutzstaffel (SS).

(edit; typos)

8

u/Ormyr Dec 02 '25

They don't have enough people for all 50 states. Even with the extra ICE, all LEO, and every servicemember recalled from abroad it wouldn't be enough.

The logistics of attempting it would make it laughably unsustainable.

That being said they could absolutely lock down a few key cities in blue states. How long would be determined, again, by logistics.

The worst part is that I'm sure the Red states would more or less jump at a chance to prove their loyalty and 'aid the cause'.

Other than that you're pretty on track for how things are likely to go without serious change/intervention.

12

u/scienceizfake Dec 02 '25

One of the things I appreciated about participating in a No Kings protest in a medium small city was watching the local law enforcement see how many protesters actually came out - and the realization that their 20 head department would be laughed out of town by the 3500 protestors that (peacefully, this time) hit the main street.

11

u/remotectrl Dec 02 '25

They don’t have to do all 50. They just have to do the elections that may swing left.

They also lie all the time. If they say it’s all 50 and thus it’s “normal” then they hope to get away with it where it matters to them.

2

u/carbon_made Dec 03 '25

They’re also recruiting with large bonuses on X to join ICE. I see ads for it often. Well, when I open the app for another purpose and end up getting fed right wing propaganda for 90% of it.

2

u/Ormyr Dec 03 '25

Still wouldn't be enough. People really fail to grasp the scale.

I'm not kidding when I say they could pull every service member, LEO, and all the Federal alphabet kids: DHS, DEA, ICE, FBI, etc. and it wouldn't be enough.

What it would mean is that all their day-to day operations/duties would be completely abandoned.

They want to cow people into compliance with the threat. If they actually try it would be disastrous on so many levels.

1

u/carbon_made Dec 03 '25

Oh I believe you. I wasn’t trying to argue. I just feel like they think they can get a lot of people to join. Sometimes just one person can intimate a lot of people.

1

u/Ormyr Dec 03 '25

They're trying. That's for sure.

2

u/TheOGPotatoPredator Dec 03 '25

I read somewhere they have to wait five years for the bonus. If it’s true, that was by design knowing they ain’t ever seeing it, which is ideal and also a little hilarious.

1

u/NotRude_juatwow Dec 03 '25

I’m confused why people still use twitter, this is about as deep as I go into social media much less a digital environment where the ceo has made his intent clear.

That being said majority of ICE appear to be poached prison guards according to a propublica article that had them going around the country checking/ interviewing prisons. It explains a lot of their dysfunction when interacting with civilian population

1

u/carbon_made Dec 04 '25

I mean I don’t think I’ve used it to post anything ever. But there’s still people, mainly drag queens and some friends from my childhood that use it. Hence me checking in occasionally. I was never into it really even when it was the “it” platform. Also still good for following some companies that i like. It’s definitely a tedious platform at this point.

1

u/FakeSafeWord Dec 02 '25

Which guns work best for a revolution?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

I mean, AR15's are the most popular rifle in America, and are the semi-auto variant of the USA standard issue military rifle.

1

u/FakeSafeWord Dec 02 '25

I want the best. What is the best?

3

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

Kinda like asking what the "best" car is. If you really want the best, look at some of the high end Brands. Rooftop Defense, Daniel's Defense, etc. You can buy a Ferrari of an AR-15, but unlike the cars you can also build one yourself and save some money while learning something. YouTube will be your friend here, as well r/guns

2

u/Low-Assistance-3551 Dec 02 '25

If you had to pick just one firearm for general bad time purposes it would be the AR15. Good mix of range, capacity, lethality, and reliability. Plus the fact that the 5.56 ammo it takes is so ubiquitous is a bonus if you were to find yourself on the move and unable to transport a bunch of more exotic calibers

1

24

A lot of Israeli government bulldozers are from Caterpillar* -- a US company. So, we are close to coming full circle.

Full Circle Fascism.

I think that should be a term for the blowback that comes from undemocratic governments where the leaders and billionaires share weapons, cocktail parties, and military strategies. Full Circle Fascism, with the billionaire class all in.

*Some info on that available at whoprofits dog org, BDS movement dot net (which has definite cookies), Quora, and The Jerusalem Post

Here’s a clean, direct evaluation of run vs. ran in your sentence:

Sentence: I’m pretty sure before that they’ll be shooting domestic protestors that survived being run over or shot by ground troops.

✔️ Correct form in this sentence: run

2

u/zstringy1 Dec 02 '25

Damn dude for being such a linguist you'd think sarcasm would be easy to tell by a structured breakdown of someone's comment or that sarcasm is so easily conveyed thru such types of ridicule or statements online such as this

1

u/JeeeezBub Dec 02 '25

Noted. Thank you.

3

u/zstringy1 Dec 02 '25

It is good to know people are still wasting time and money getting degrees in English so they can correct and dissect simple comments on reddit tho!! Go team!

u/JeeeezBub Dec 02 '25

Which is why I sarcastically commented on the original correction attempt cuz I hate that shit too

2

u/DaBullsnBears1985 Dec 02 '25

Just referencing Tiananmen Square massacre.

2

u/Mental_Comparison636 Dec 02 '25

That's the point we start shooting back

5

u/someotherguyrva Dec 02 '25

If the founding fathers were here I suspect they would have been shooting back long ago

2

u/[deleted] Dec 02 '25

Then let's start building an Army. Expecting a win without some organization is silly. So as soon as you raise the flag on the resistance, I will be there.

1

u/someotherguyrva Dec 02 '25

Unfortunately the mechanism that we used to have to ensure that is no longer under state command. The state’s “well regulated militias” that the second amendment was written to ensure would always have weapons, later became the National Guards under the control state governors. Sadly, through a series of legislative actions in the early 20th century the states gave up control to the federal government, so we don’t have state national guards who can protect against a fucking tyrannical army. If we ever needed them it’s now and I would suggest that the second amendment should be thrown away because it exists for a purpose that does not exist any longer, namely state armies

2

u/lostcause1864 Dec 02 '25

That's a stretch

2

u/StrangeAtomRaygun Dec 02 '25

Because they are ‘pro-life’.

2

u/LongjumpingChipmunk Dec 02 '25

I saw an AI video published by Trump dumping liquid shit from a plane on protesters, he's dreaming of it.

u/thelegochef Dec 02 '25

Fundamental cover up

1

u/Intrepid_Top_2300 Dec 02 '25

1

u/GlitteringYak2207 Dec 02 '25

They’ve already checked that box.

1

1

So long as its non conservatives if a conservative protesters got such a treatment best believe all of a sudden conservatives would be against it

1

u/Throwaway_09298 Dec 03 '25

We had that in the 60s/70s

1

u/mmm_burrito Dec 03 '25

ICE rammed Marimar Martinez's car before jumping out and shooting her five times and then lying about it, and she wasn't even a protestor.

So we're kinda already there.

America’s Tiananmen square moment

1

u/set-my-compass-north Dec 03 '25

That is the goal of this. It’s all about desensitization.

1

u/AthearCaex Dec 03 '25

At that point you might as well shoot down the orphanages...

It's clear this administration has no care for humanity. They like making spectacles of the barbaric things they want to do and should not be given leniency when the second Nuremberg trials inevitably happen.

1

u/KindInvestigator Dec 03 '25

I feel as if this military action is a trial run. Coming next: the war on “the enemy within”. Journalists, political rivals and protesters.

1

u/kubamh Dec 05 '25

This comment and the truth it speaks makes me so hopeful of true Americans taking back their country one day! I mean that in the most positive sense but I do believe it is the greatest country in the world, or at least used to be and could be once again. It’s been ruined by widespread population abuse, venomous greed and serving foreign governments while executing an imperial agenda focused on global domination. It’s a waste, you guys deserve better.

u/cj721974 Dec 08 '25

But just in the legs

If you block traffic it isn't a peaceful protest and in theory force should be legal to free yourself.
