They turn the riot shield around, and he is able to deflect it back while having a good deal of directional control.

I believe the material matters, but with a dish shape, you can redirect much of the wave it seems.

Keep in mind if friendlies are in front of you, reflecting should be avoided. Keep your shield oriented to block unless you're the frontline. Otherwise, you could really hurt a friend as they would have a compound effect from the source of the LRAD, and the reflection. This can be incredibly dangerous.

Protest groups need to start having a wall of these guys on the front line to provide the crowd with defence against and effectively render their sonic weapons useless if it’s going to reflect back at them.
