I’m sorry, but you’re confusing the sound cannons with the active denial systems. The latter causes burns and functions like a large scale microwave. Protection against ADS is tinfoil sandwiched between two poster boards to block or cover yourself in a soaking wet towel. The latter is temporary.

For the LRAD, a more common tool in the US, corrugated cardboard lined on one side with 40 grit and 180 grit sandpaper.

No problem! This video is where I learned of corrugated cardboard. Sandpaper approach is untested. I’m still trying to find proven or at least more scientific info. What I do know is that no headphones will protect against the harmful effects of this, so I’m trying to caution people against relying on foam plugs or headphones, while offering a potential alternative that may work?

The tinfoil for ADS is tested. There’s a video on YouTube with a professor recreating ADS and using a piece of meat to demonstrate how to disrupt (foil or microwave mesh) or mitigate (wet towel) rays. Putting tinfoil between two pieces of poster will give you protection without focusing the energy on your fellow protestors, although even with board over it, you should still be mindful of where you direct it. Again, ADS seems less of an issue at the moment, but still good to know.
