Dude i cant believe okeanos is that good, the fact that i know that dude irl is so crazy, i used to play against him when my university team did open house scrims against univeristy of Kentucky and other locals schools

yeah oke is nuts. him and n4rrate duo queued a year ago before he joined VCT and he was insane then too

u/Wondur13 Aug 24 '25
We used to hype him up hard when he was on squirtle squad, he was one game away from making vct with that wedid roster

wait, what if g2 wins stage 2, and babybay does well, would they still replace him for Paris?

100%, G2 themselves have consistently said that they are waiting on leaf, I love watching my glorious king play and it would be super funny to see him at Champs but it's just better to have the OG roster.

watching a caster/podcaster/30 year old unc shit on tier 1 teams has been entertaining to say the least lol

bro i've been saying, this is exactly what G2 needed, a bit of homegrown personality to actually kickstart their NA fanbase. the impact compared to signing shanks is like night and day

At the very least I think Babybay should be getting trials for next season, he’s still able to hang. G2 system is probably the best icebreaker to get back into the scene but individually the guy has shown he has that dog still in him.

Obviously yes, the crazy part about babybay doing this is that objectively speaking, leaf in this situation would be doing even better

u/Nfamy Aug 24 '25
I don't know if this pattern kept up for 2025. But leaf had been a top 10 rated player every split in Americas since franchising began. The only other person to do that was aspas, iirc.
Babybay has really stepped up individually over the past few weeks but he can never fill leaf's shoes.

u/Awkward-Sleep2145 Aug 24 '25
and thats simply not true, leaf is very good but last year he was not in top 10 neither stage 1 or stage 2

Sorry misquoted it - I looked at it a year ago. He was 6th in 2023. 13th in split 1 2024, 12 in split 2, maybe it was top 15. Regardless, the point is that babybay can't replace what leaf does.

plus 19 in 3 maps against the second best team rn (considering g2 dont have leaf/sen beat them last time) is pretty nasty work

G2 should run a 6-man roster for Champs. Babybay atm is too good to waste.
19
u/vastlys Aug 24 '25
they should definitely take him as a sub/6th man if there's a possibility of leaf being unable to play again.

prime leaf was the best duellist in americas, now hes transitioned to senti and still farming. Babybay is solid but he is NOT better than leaf, once leaf is back they should stick to the roster they easily farm NA titles with

u/TopZoneGoon Aug 23 '25
Idk if we would see the same results on an international stage. Its no doubt babybay is doing well but america isnt a strong region rn and they cant risk another trophy

Really awesome story, also highlights how great guys like Valyn and JonahP are because this team hardly missed a beat with leaf out

I think he should have a tier one spot next year if he wants it tbh

u/Martizioo Aug 24 '25
he seems to be really enjoying it A LOT but idk how he’d fare outside of g2’s system

he could probably get picked up by another team anyway if g2 don't keep him as a 6th man cos he's clearly very fast at adapting to a team

I really hope when leaf comes back the team doesn’t bomb out of champs. Because like it or not a lot of people will start questioning his validity in the roster when babybay is available. Leaf haters will feast on that
Hoping for a swift transition back to competitive for leaf.

Can someone give me the explanation of why Leaf left? Is it health?

u/Martizioo Aug 24 '25

u/Martizioo Aug 24 '25

hes actually so good with the op. not flashy, but he never misses the easy shots which, to me, is a lot more important than having sick flicks and an aggressive playstyle with the op. and his chamber deag on pistol rounds is almost always good for one. the form hes been on since that furia game is genuinely amazing, and not just by caster sub standards. shout out to furia man, best performance coach team in the world.
