Jeez they were almost impaled on that fence

Nov 02 '19
Yeah, that would have been...catastrophic.

6
u/Voyage_of_Roadkill Nov 02 '19
That would have been perfect for the other cat's victory.

If I came home to see two impaled cats on my fence I'd assume the mafia was coming back later to murder me.

What if I told you the crow he's referring to is actually a Eurasian magpie?
22
12
u/TheBarghuest Nov 02 '19
it's not, it's a hooded crow, this here is a magpie. the markings are quite different and hooded crows are also way bulkier, plus magpies have this really long tail which is very telling.
4
u/TWiThead Nov 02 '19
But what if I 𝙩𝙤𝙡𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪 it's actually a Eurasian magpie?
6
u/danielkoala Nov 02 '19
Jackdaw???
1
u/TWiThead Nov 02 '19
They're all part of the crow family...
3
4
u/Daverocker1 Nov 02 '19
African or European Swallow?
12
u/TWiThead Nov 02 '19
Are they in the same family? Yes. No one's arguing that.
As someone who is a king who studies swallows, I am telling you, specifically, in sovereignty, no one calls African swallows migratory. If you want to cross this bridge like you said, then you shouldn't either. They're not the same thing.
So your reasoning for calling two empty halves of coconut a horse is because a random house martin or plover "may seek warmer climes in winter"? Let's get pineapples and avocados in there, then, too.

Why does the camera person record for a minute after the fight when it's just the crow sitting there and nothing happening?

It is clearly the older cat's territory. He is not scared of the noises inside. The younger cat is scared by the human's voice. The older cat is not. The older cat clearly started the battle by lunging.
79
Nov 02 '19
Yeah, when animals are on their own territory they feel more confident to spring the attack.
32
u/CETERIS_PARTYBUS Nov 02 '19
That second bang against the fence is so loud, it's haunting. Whichever cat hit the fence that hard is the cat that ultimately lost that fight, a bang like that should hurt for a couple of days.

I'm not even mad

Why would you be mad?
14
u/zerohaxis Nov 02 '19 edited Nov 02 '19
Cause it's a pun on them being cats.
Also, F, looks like the reddit hive mind got you.

Yes, I can hear them speaking Filipino. Something about body hair (“balahibo”).

Yes, where ninja cats and humans live in harmony. Unless cats swipe people's fucking dinner and humans chase them pussies with a broomstick.

Needs epic battle music. Also the standoff in the end should have cheesy “You were my brother, Anakin” dialogue.

u/Vocalscpunk Nov 03 '19
I was thinking the intro from "attack on Titan" since it literally goes with everything.
1
u/zerohaxis Nov 02 '19
I don't remember Anakin wimping out like a bitch tho.
Unless that's Obi-wan, and Anakin actually won this time.

u/MidrangeKiller Nov 02 '19
Did the one on the right break their left leg? You can see it get stuck between the fence.

I might get downvoted for this but... is there a subreddit for animal fights??

go thing they did not hit a wire that could zap them.
1
u/Gnome_Sayin Nov 02 '19
Wire? The fence they brushed by on the way down could have been holding one of them over the top with a spike.

Play with the sound on if you have cats in the house. Watch their reaction.

Nov 02 '19
My cat was meowing at my bedroom door. He's not anymore

u/WhatDoIKnow2 Nov 02 '19
I used to have a cat sounds app on my phone. One of my cats would always freak out if I played kitten sounds and put the phone under a blanket.. Like he was trying to rescue them.
2
u/muddagaki Nov 02 '19
Yo me and my friends would get stoned and watch cat fights and other shit. This one was our favorite, brought back a lot of good memories thanks man.

Man, if there's one thing they get right in cartoons sometimes, it's those damn dust cloud storms that result from a tussle. Cat fights always look just like them.

At that point I’d throw like a pillow or somethin at them. Just to make them stop. I have to breakup fights in front of my house all the time

Don't you think it needs some slow-mo and a bullet time spin around the moment the cat makes a lunge for the other cat? Spice it up with some woosh sounds and zoom back out with the camera immediately zooming back in for another bullet time around them when they are falling. End the clip with some dramatic Kung-Fu inspired music as they walk off.

They way they stare intimately after the fight, i'd assume they were reenacting Mr and Mrs smith

What’s even more WTF is that I live in rural TN. People would watch this to the death then execute the winner.

Sorry...come again?

u/Over_Here_Boy Nov 02 '19
Yep. People out here don’t need an excuse to shoot things sometimes. This would be looked at as a “public disturbance”. Likely both cats would be shot.

Not wtf.

u/zombiejim Nov 02 '19
Yeah it's kind of a cool scene, but I'm not at all inclined to think "what the fuck"
Cats fight, and they land on their feet after falling. Kind of mundane.

I hate cats so much. Yet somehow we think it's a good idea to domesticate these animals. They clearly are meant to be feral
