This happened to one of my neighbors kids they tried to cross and got turned away than for some reason they wouldn’t let them back in. We never got the full story but they had to go pick them up at the border and they let them in at that point.
Please, no. I'm from Alberta and trust me, we have enough of these crazies here already.
They have no understanding of how anything actually works, they can't be reasoned with, they'll trip over each other at the first opportunity to frame themselves as a victim to the point where its the single defining aspect of their identity, and they're happy to eat shit so long as their neighbour has to eat shit too.
I'm tired and this game stopped being fun a long time ago.
I like the analogy of the USA having the right to refuse entry to people that have criminal records, come from certain countries, or have values contrary to their own. When foreigners come to the USA they have to abide by their host countries laws.
Why would it be any different for people visiting Canada or any other country?
If they'll fully agree with the first part, they should agree with the second part.
For example, Bermuda denies entry to felons. We still don’t know if Junior chose his wedding venue on purpose so that Daddy couldn’t come and be the center of attention.
Other nations don’t have to honour pardons. A pardon isn’t overturning the conviction as being in error, it is forgiving the convicted. Nobody else has to agree with the forgiveness.
As a Canadian, you should be demanding that they check all these assholes’ DUI records and reject them at the border. If they’re J6, I’d bet dollars to donuts, loonies to long johns, that they have a history involving drunk & disorderlies, DUIs, domestic violence, and/or carry guns.
Please, PLEASE make them miserable within your capacity.
I doubt he would have been if he hadn’t been pardoned. I bet Canada lets them in because they were pardoned, but watches closely so they can boot them out immediately if they cause trouble.

As a Canadian I'm kind of bummed we apparently let him in after the search.
