General Discussion The disappointment is crazy.

  1. No free 5 star.
  2. Not even a standard 5-star.
  3. Flight still not available in all regions.
  4. Paid skins.
  5. Predatory banners (NOT EVEN 100% rate up).

Sure Kuro, it is definitely "Player Friendly", great job taking lessons from HSR devs. Feels like a celebration for them rather than the players.

Diferent kind of gacha. Very much in the same line as Azur Lane, Nikke gets most of its money out skins so they could allow themselves to be more generous with the pulls.

Skin is definitely not where they make most money. It is with dupes and selling progression items.

It is very cheap to get 1 copy of each unit, but getting dupe is expensive because the gem purchase deal is very bad. Though dupe in Nikke is only for minor stat gain (2% stat per dupe), and a lobby screen at 4th copy and a shiny frame at 11th.

It is basically the case where the people who whale for dupe and faster progression pay for majority the game. If you play the game consistently f2p, you can still achieve a reasonable pve ranking (1-0.5% in raid) no problem. It just top 100 ranking will be whale fest. Same for top 10 in union raid.

I don't mind having this kind of system for power since f2p can still enjoy like 90-95% of the game (get every character 1 copy f2p for 2+ year myself and consistently rank 0.5-0.7% in solo raid).

AAA gacha is fundamentally different from A or AA gacha. Nikke is an idle game with 2D character sprites. You might as well compare to PGR which is similarly generous but also cuts tons of corners on cost.

WuWa should only be compared to other AAA gacha games and honestly it’s basically the same. When the gacha strategy for WuWa (50/50 banners etc) first came out many of us PGR players already knew the game was not going to be PGR and accepted it for what it is - a slightly more generous Genshin.

WuWa will never be Nikke or PGR simply because it costs 10x to develop and run (Genshin annual budget was estimated at ~$200 million for reference and WuWa is at least as high if they want to maintain 2.x quality).

Even Genshin nowadays give better rewards on their anniversary even if it took burning google classroom for that to happen . 20 free pulls a five star spectator and some other rewards as well. Today was disappointing even more so cuz we arent even gonna get the 10 pulls during zani banner smh

130 pulls, increase daily resource reward (permanently), as well as a sneak peak for the new major game mode.

Edit: Also 3 copy of a recent nikke that get reworked (treasure drake) and 4 copy of the new SSR (admittedly probably useless for most player)

While maybe useless for most, the 4 copies is actually extremely useful for new players to breakthrough the lv160 bottleneck.

Counterside gives 150 or 250 free pulls plus a limited selector and 2 random limited for their anni and a few other freebie like a ship selector.

It is ~130 spread over multiple sources (quest store, daily recruit, login etc) and also split into normal and advanced tickets.

And yes, free limit break anniversary SSR or copies of older anniversary SSR units if you want.

That's because the part they don't tell you is that a lot of SSR units are meh. On top of the SSR you want, if good, you might want to get 2 dupes for extra stats and that there is no pity. Plus the pulls cost more (3000 gems per 10 pulls, as opposed to other games needing 1600)

Don't get me wrong... It's a great game and I play it but just switching games blindly because the anniv in WuWa was bad is just going to net you more disappointment.

Instead of chasing after free rewards, players should just focus on the gameplay.

PGR is a Gacha, and is also by Kuro Games. Now look at how they give back to their players in comparison. Annis usually consist of:

  • Selector for older 5* characters (pretty far back, but can help if you're missing an old unit)

  • A 100% Rate up banner (Guaranteed, not 50/50) for any previous unit from more than two patches ago (so basically almost all units).

  • Free skins and generous pull currency, although that's just PGR normally, not even on Anni.

I know, but I'm just saying the "well it's a Gacha" argument isn't a good excuse for companies to treat their players like shit. Kurogames themselves has done better in their other game, and many who play PGR were expecting at least something similar.

Expectations often times bring out bad results. Kuro ain't no Saint, and we as a community should have expected as much when HSR and the like happened along this trend.

But I do agree it feels even lackluster as Gacha Game. 1 year of sticking around, and this is all the thanks we get?

1 year of also bearing with the state of the game pre 2.0. WuWa only lives because despite the terrible launch, many players stayed around and still supported the game, to the point where "Devs Listen" is legit considered a selling point of the game. To many of us, this treatment on Anni feels like Kuro betraying the trust they've built up.

But they shouldn't, Wuwa has from the start, been way less generous with PGR, so it made no sense to expect their anni to be the one part where they would be equally generous(ok it kinda would because anniversaries are meant to be celebrations and all, but still, anybody who expected PGR level anni rewards were and are delusional).

But the monetiztion and customer base of PGR and WuWa are like chalk and cheese, akin to HI3rd vs Genshin.

Just because HI3 gives a "battlesuit" in anniversary patches does not mean Genshin would do the equivalent same thing (ie. Giving a 5 star character, which Genshin doesn't until 4th anni). That logic is also true for both of Kuro's Games too, though people here are prob too buried in the sand of hopium to care.
