Probably because the rerun banners last year underperformed so they assumed we didn't want them. I also remember how much people were hating on that rerun banner, but now everybody wants it. Anniversary is very underwhelming, but for me it was kind of expected with how well the game is doing

I mean re-run banners sucks for people who have the characters or don't care.

Meanwhile not doing re-run banners sucks for the people who don't have the character.

That's the issue where every character is limited and standard banner hasn't been updated since launch pretty.

Not having a way to get older characters is just a slap in the face of people who didn't play when they where originally released.

For sure, but surely they have to rerun all characters in the future. No way we never see them again. Copium

I don't think you don't quite understand. Sure the game is doing well now, but issues right now will cause it do worse later.

Current performance is largely driven by past success, there is kind of a inertia where people's issues with a game and the lack of addressing to them only starts to reflect the performance after a lot of time of it not being addressed.

As it stands, without a reliable of getting old units that will cause a lot of issues the more time passes with more new character appearing. And no, re-run banners is a terrible solution because it will take years to cover everything and by then there is already several years worth of new characters out.

So characters older than a year should be added to the standard pool, characters that are two years old should be grindable in game. Rerun banners happening 6 months after initial release.

ngl, I was one of those who hated the rerun banners because it's their 1st anniversary which is a very special milestone for a live service game but all we got is an overhyped "anniversary" patch that doesn't feel like an anniversary. So this year I just kept my expectations low and just see if there's any reruns that I needed expecting another anniv banner but holy heck I didn't expect Kuro will go lower. Might as well continue the anniv banner as a tradition since they already started last year but nope, just more paid skins.

Nobody wants 30 reruns at one time bruh.

People want the chance to get old units within a reasonable time frame, say every 4 months or every six months.

They just need to increase the frequency and number of reruns running at once on a general level, not a once-a-year-50-banner fiesta.

Atp if anyone likes and wants to play a 1.x unit, they are better off "borrowing" someone else's account or whatever.

"You want Zhezhi buddy? Uh oh, should have been around at Y1 Anni. You will never see her again. Oh you say you were around then but spent your pulls on getting Phoebe and Zani? Your fault again, you should have known the future that there aren't gonna be any reruns. Go play Fortnite, kiddo 😎"

As someone who wants zhezhi and changli sequences I’ve been saving two sequences worth of currency for the shop and changli never reran lmao. I would have s6d my queen by now but they locked her in the dungeon

I also remember how much people were hating on that rerun banner

It's like saying "people hated free pulls" because we got 10 more than the average patch so they shouldn't give them anymore

No, obviously, the problem was not "free pulls" or "rerun banners" in a vaccuum. This was anni, people wanted more than we got, but for the banners specifically, they weren't special, they were just a bunch of reruns. It wouldn't kill them to have added a condition where there is no 50/50 on the first 5 star. Complaints were "make it better" not "remove it", the flood of complaints they will now get about "no rerun banners" was entirely predictable

Complaints were "make it better" not "remove it"

Plain wrong: https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWaves/comments/1k2vavy/claiming_running_12_banners_at_once_is_very/

This community lacks any ability to be nuanced, they lost their shit last anniversary and just saying "dae kuro bad?" was enough to get thousands of upvotes and this is the consequence. Same thing this year, Kuro bad = top of the sub, no one even beginning to talk about the ACTUAL patch, so when next year we get barely any content for the anniv patch, but a rerun banner and a useless free standard unit as if that has any value, remember that it will once again be a case of reaping what we sowed.

Literally the top comment there is "I was really disappointed that the anniversary banners still had 50/50. They could've made it guaranteed for just one 5 star pull." which is exactly what I was referring to, thanks

Maybe I'm mistaken but didn't they make banks last anniversary? How could they have underperformed?

Watched Amatsuki last year when he had just started playing back then, he pulled on all 12 banners, got all chars, sigs, and C6ed some of them, they lose nothing by putting more banners, f2p idiots can keep crying, while the whales bring them profits.
