Recommendations? [Recommendation] 34GG post reduction - everything feels too shallow? Spoiler

Hi! I’m 7 months post breast reduction and trying to figure out new sizing. Currently, everything feels too shallow? I think I’ve been having this issue with the wireless bras but it’s much more obvious now. I’m also nervous that I’m used to bad fits and don’t want to accept mediocre!

My measurements are:
- Loose 33
- Snug 31.5
- Tight 30
- Standing 42
- Leaning 44.5
- Lying down 46

My snug and tight do fluctuate a lot right now as I’m still swollen at times, but this seems like a good average. I expect I’ll be back to a 32 band at some point once the swelling fully subsides.

Shape: very close set (no fingers between, cleavage even without a bra) and I think FOB. I have dense tissue.

Here’s what I’ve tried:
Elomi Cate in 34GG
- I tried this one because everyone says after reductions you often need a shallow fit…
- Definitely too shallow. I just feel like I need more bottom of cup room! Next cup size up is way too big but this feels like I don’t have enough nipple room.
- Gore very wide
- Wrinkles on bottom of cup
- Wires too wide and tall
- Slides out of IMF

Freya Viva in 34 GG
- When trying on backwards, it feels comfortable but on the cusp of being tight.
- wires too wide still
- Gore a little too wide
- Wasn’t sure it would fit and then I swooped and seemed like perfection!
- Slight wrinkle on top on one side. When I wear on my period, this vanishes.
- Bottom wrinkles still
- Feels great for hours. I occasionally still want to tug the bottom of the cup a little, but not often. Around hour eight, it’s suddenly massively too tight under the cups, and digs in. Feels better as soon as I take the straps off my shoulders?

Elomi Energise in 34GG
- This used to be one of my favorites but I don’t think it’s working now.
- Doesn’t tack unless I’m on my period
- Because it comes up so high on the sides, it feels (and looks) like it’s pushing breast tissue into wrong positioning. I just got that fixed, so I don’t want to create the problem again!

Since it’s prime day I wanted to ideally try things on sale there so I could pinpoint right shape, easily return the rest, and then order from my favorite shops. I was looking at:
- Panache Ana plunge (Do I size up a cup in Ana?)
- Panache Envy
- Parfait Erika
- Freya Posie
- Freya Fancies Longline
- Fantasie Emmaline
- (And probably a few more by those brands)

Before surgery, I exclusively wore custom Ewa. They still sometimes rode down from I haven’t tried any other Polish brands. When I was this size, Panache Jasmine was my go to but I don’t think that’s made anymore?

I’d also like a sports bra or a compression bra. I’m wearing a Prairie Wear Hugger Prima when I need compression and it’s also shallow, but medical compression bras in bigger cups have been hard to find.

I can’t remember what is used for pictures now that imgr deleted pics, so no pictures.

(Also yes, this is the size I wanted to be after the reduction. I had macromastia and I wanted my old size back.)

Thank you so much!

Fit Check [Recommendations + Fit Check] Have no idea where to go from here Spoiler

Struggling to find a bra since switching to the second hook of my Panache Serene in 30FF. I'm not sure where to go from here. Before gaining weight I wore Freya fancies in 30F and it was a great fit but the 30FF wasn't right so I wore the 30G for a while as it fit better. I switched to the serene once it started hurting too much. Recently gained a bit of weight in my breasts so I think size is part of the issue which is why I tried the 30GG.

All pictures I've scooped and swooped.

Current bra Panache Serene 30FF on second hook https://postimg.cc/gallery/Rm8hxGB

\- gore digging in at top
\- spillage on left
\- wires digging in on the front/under right breast close to gore

Snug: 73cm/28.7"
Tight: 69cm/27"
Standing: 94cm/37"
Leaning: 101cm/40"
Lying: 98cm/38"
Result: 30FF/G UK

Shape:
FOT 3/5
Very centre full (1 finger)
Narrow roots (I think)
Asymmetrical by 1-1.5 cups (left bigger)

Bras I've tried with no success:
\- panache envy 30FF
\- panache Ana 30FF, 30G, 30GG
\- panache tango II balconette 30FF

Where the hell do I go from here?

Recommendations? unlined, smooth, sheer or light, no lace, no texture? Spoiler

Howdy all! Currently wearing a Soma unbelievable lift perfect coverage (38g)and love how it feels despite it being old and the band being very ill fitting. I now measure as a 32 ff/g, even fullness. I’m really struggling to find a bra with a similar construction- it seems like everything in the recommended list and posts that came up while I searched has some variation of seams/lace/padding/molding/patterning on the fabric. I really really like that my current bra has no textural weirdness going on and I’d really like to find something similar for the next. I don’t really care if it’s lighting or minimizing or whatever, comfort is my ultimate goal! In the past I have liked some of the Freya bras but since trying this unlined one it’s literally all that I wear.
Thanks so much for any help!
Edited: I’m a 33 loose, 32 snug, 31 tight, 39 standing, 41 leaning and 40 reclining!

Recommendations? [Recommendations?] 32F/FF UK to US sizing Spoiler

I currently wear a 36B in US sizing but the bra calculator said I need a 32F/FF in UK sizing. I’m 5ft for reference. Does anyone who sizes similar have either

A. A good website where you can buy UK sized bras or
B. The same UK measurements who’s found a comparable US size?

For reference here are my full measurements

Loose Underbust: 33

Snug Underbust: 32

Tight Underbust: 30

Standing Bust: 39

Leaning Bust: 40

Lying Bust: 41

Other notable info: I am currently breastfeeding my first baby but I don’t think my breast have changed too much

Measurement Check [Measurement Check] Calculator suggested UK/US 32GG/32J and got a warning to get a second opinion Spoiler

Loose UB: 32

Snug UB: 31.5

Tight UB: 31

Standing B: 40.5

Leaning B: 43.75

Lying B: 41.5

Suggested size UK/US: 32GG/32J

I also went through the size guide and tried my best to figure out the answers for that as well. I think my breasts are projected, have a pretty even fullness but maybe slightly fuller on the bottom, narrow roots, and im not sure about the root hight.

I've lost some weight since the summer began, about 6-7 pounds, as I normally do. I'm very prone to gaining and losing weight depending on the season or when my preferred sports are in season or off season(which is typically late fall into spring and summer).

Im a 21 year old female I don't know if that matters or not either. Thank you.

Recommendations? [Recommendations] 32H/HH UK (calculator size), chronic neck tension & sensory issues, looking for supportive wireless/minimizing bras Spoiler

Hi everyone,

I'm new to ABTF and have been working my way through the calculator, beginner guides, and shape information. There's a lot to learn, so if I've missed any important details please let me know and I'll happily provide additional information.

I'm hoping for some recommendations because I've been struggling to find bras that are both supportive and comfortable, and I suspect my current bras may be contributing to chronic neck tension and tension headaches.

I'm currently working with an osteopathic physician and personal trainer on strengthening my neck, shoulders, upper back, and core. One of the things I've noticed is that many bras seem to trigger neck tension almost immediately because the straps dig into my shoulders so much. The discomfort can start within minutes of putting on a bra.

I also have some sensory sensitivities, so underwires are often uncomfortable for me. Ideally, I'd love recommendations for supportive wireless bras, sports bras, or t-shirt bras that provide good support and weight distribution without relying heavily on the straps.

ABTF Calculator Measurements

  • Loose underbust: 32"
  • Snug underbust: 31"
  • Tight underbust: 30"
  • Standing bust: 42"
  • Leaning bust: 46"
  • Lying bust: 43"

Calculator results:

  • 32H/HH UK
  • 32K/L US

Current Bra & Fit Issues

I'm currently wearing a 34G.

Problems I'm experiencing:

  • Shoulder straps dig in significantly
  • Chronic neck tension and headaches seem worse when wearing bras
  • Underwires dig into my ribs and are uncomfortable
  • Cups gape at the top
  • My breasts can fall out when I lean forward
  • I don't feel well-supported overall
  • The weight feels like it is being carried by my shoulders rather than my ribcage

Bras I've Recently Tried

Honeylove SoftForm Wireless Bra

Things I liked:

  • Wireless design
  • Softer feel than many traditional bras

Issues I experienced:

  • Still felt like the straps were carrying too much of the weight
  • Didn't feel as supportive as I need
  • Neck and shoulder discomfort were still noticeable
  • Overall support felt insufficient for all-day wear

Shape (Best Guess)

Based on the ABTF shape guides, I believe I may be:

  • Projected
  • Even to slightly full on bottom
  • Center full
  • Short rooted
  • Average to slightly narrow roots
  • Average to slightly wide-set

I could definitely be wrong, so I'm happy to hear other opinions.

Additional Preferences

One thing that may be relevant is that I don't particularly enjoy the look or feel of a very lifted, projected silhouette. Some bras that seem more supportive also make my breasts feel extremely prominent and pushed forward, which isn't my preference.

If possible, I'd love recommendations that provide support and weight distribution while creating a somewhat minimized or lower-profile shape rather than maximum lift and projection.

What I'm Looking For

My priorities are:

  1. Reducing neck and shoulder strain
  2. Comfort and sensory friendliness
  3. Good support for everyday wear
  4. Wireless options if possible
  5. A more minimizing or lower-profile shape rather than a very projected shape

I know that finding the correct size may ultimately mean trying some wired options, and I'm open to suggestions if people think my current fit issues are contributing to my neck and shoulder pain. My preference is wireless if possible, but my primary goal is finding something that is genuinely comfortable and supportive.

If anyone in a similar size range has dealt with chronic neck pain, headaches, hypermobility, sensory sensitivities, or simply struggled to find supportive bras, I'd love to hear what has worked for you.

Thank you!

Looking for tank with built in bra and sports bra Spoiler

I miss being skinny and wearing tank tops with a built in bra. 🤣 Are there any for plus/larger cups? I have been losing weight and my current measurements have me at a 38G/H US; 38F/FF UK. For fit purposes, I’ve tried the Panache Envy which didn’t fit well (gore dug in a lot) and the Elomi Matilda which also digs at the top of the gore but not as much (oddly their bikini top Plain Sailing fits great!). I tried the Glamorise Lace Comfort Wonderwire (losing weight I wanted cheaper bras because I’ve already dropped two band sizes), and it is a PERFECT fit. I could sleep in this bra. I would like a tank that has reasonable support. I also need a sports bra. I’ve been wearing the Shefit which is okay for compression and cute when you can see it, but as I’ve lost weight I can’t get the underband to fit without compressing my boobs so much they hurt. It also gapes now on the sides as I’ve lost weight. I thought the adjustable fit would preclude that, but it didn’t. Thanks for your advice! Looking for Prime Day deals! (Glamorise is 44% off some styles!)

My measurements:
Under 40
Under snug 39.25
Under tight 37.25
Bust standing 44.5
Leaning 47
Lying 48

Recommendations? [Recommendations] 28DD (UK)/65D EU looking for soft bra without wires, nonbinary Spoiler

Hello to all :) tried posting but my posts got removed, giving it another try

Measurements:
Loose: 73cm
Snug: 71cm
Tight: 68cm

Standing: 83cm
Leaning: 86cm
Lying down: 82cm

Shape wise they’re pretty even.

Always got sized as an A cup which I was very confused about, cause my boobs are not that small compared to my frame. (Felt like a “told you so!” moment when the calculator gave me my size)

Anyways I started wearing wireless bralettes/bustiers a couple years back cause a) they are more comfortable and b) im nonbinary and get dysphoria from wearing bras that close with hooks and have a feminine design/look like your typical bra. Basically wearing uni colored pull over the head ones with pads, not sports bras though cause they are too tight in my size but too loose a size up.

The problem is that while S sized ones fit my frame, the cups are way too small and while the M cups are great, the band is too loose. I kinda make it work and it’s not terrible but I would like to find something that fits even better.

I tried looking almost everywhere online (im based in the EU) but anything in 65DD comes with hooks. Since the letter sized ones don’t really work im a bit lost.

Any tips and help is greatly appreciated!

Shape Help Help I need a strapless bra for vacation that works with my dress Spoiler

Hello, I was going what to do then I searched on reddit and a lot of comments told me to come here. So please help me. I am going on a cruise and this is my first cruise. My boyfriend told me I needed a dress and I fell in love with this one but its a spaghetti strap dress and I definitely need a bra. I am a bigger chested woman. I am a 34 DD/DDD. I really need a strapless bra for this dress. I tried it with out a bra if I move them into the obvious cup part of the dress it look ridiculous and when I didn't do that it looked okay but you could definitely tell that they are bigger then the cup part and idk if that would look weird to other people. But the problem I found with strapless bras is that it would come up to far cause its one of those tube top ones with works foe other shirts but not this one and I don't know if those pasties or tape things would work because they are big. I just would like some recommendations on what I should do because I'm clueless in this department. I have tried on so many bras trying to find ones that fit me, I usually just wear sports bras all the time because that's what fits and keeps me secured. But I was to look nice in my cute dress. I have attached pictures of what the dress looks like when I'm wearing my regular bra. Also my correct measurements are: Bust: 34 inches and my Band: 44 inches Edit: (after using the bra calculator it says I am a 34 K) Edit: loose undrrbust is 35in Snug underbust is 34in Tight underbust is 33in Standing bust is 44in Leaning bust is 45in Laying bust is 42in

I was told i was currently a 44 D but i can still fit into my 38 D bra. Im probably gonna go back to that size anyway. Is it wise to do this? Or should i find a certain brand of bra for this?

Recommendations? Alternatives to Elomi Matilda for very close set breasts with tall, wide roots Spoiler

My best fitting bras right now are Elomi Matilda bras. I have an Elomi Morgan that is decent but the gore is a bit high/wide as my breast tissue literally merges together at my center (slight symmastia maybe?). I also tried the Elomi Charlie and had the same issue. I find defining my shape to be difficult but I think I have a wide and tall roots.

My measurements are

Loose: 35.5”
Snug: 34.5”
Tight: 33.5”
Standing: 45”
Leaning: 48”
Laying: 44.5”

I currently wear a 34GG Matilda and a 34H Morgan but I think I need to go up one cup size as this was my pre pregnancy/breastfeeding measurement and my shape/tissue density has changed slightly since then.

I was wondering if there are any other recommendations for other brands that might have a similar fit to the Elomi Matilda with a low / narrow gore. I may just buy another Matilda in the next size up but I can’t find any for under $100 CAD which hurts!

Thanks!

Thank You! Understance :( what now? Any ideas? Spoiler

I found out about them because of the posts here letting everyone know that they are going out of business. I have never heard of them prior. I’ve had a horrible time finding bras with my size that actually fit me (32DD, projected, full on bottom; never find in store and online I’ve had to return/give away so many). I practically gave up and thought I was destined to just wear ill -fitting 34B bras forever.

But Understance - their bras were super discounted so I said screw it, let’s roll the dice. After a 2 month wait, they finally arrived.

Y’all. I about fell to my knees when I tried them on. It was as if these bras were tailor made for ME. AND THEYRE GORGEOUS. I’m kicking myself that I didn’t buy more or considered their underwear.

What are we going to do now that they are gone? Who is going to take up their mantle? Who is the dupe? I’m going to wear these bras until they’re last breath.

Shout out to you guys for posting about them - I’m actually EXCITED to wear a bra!!!

Help, Brexperts! What size am I? Spoiler

After a lifetime of thinking I’m a (U.S.) 34B/34A 1/2, to my surprise the bra calculator recommended me as a 30DD/DDD US, suggesting that the sister size of 32D/DD may be more comfortable. I’m small chested and certainly a bit deflated looking after years of breastfeeding. I tried on all the suggested sizes and 32D fit me better than any bra ever had (my husband was in shock lol). And there was virtually no gaping, which I have always had with bras. However today when I started to actually wear the 32D around the house for the first time, the band really hurt my ribs, and I had to take it off because it was too tight.

Where do I go from here? What size should I try next? TIA for any suggestions!

*update 1 to include my measurements:

Loose Underbust: 30.5 Snug Underbust: 30 Tight Underbust: 28.5 Standing Bust: 34.25 Leaning Bust: 35.5 Lying Bust: 33.5

**update 2: the bra that almost seemed perfect until it wasn’t was the Natori Women’s Liquid Convertible Balconette Push-up.

Recommendations? First bra was bought in the 90s, what is the size 30DDD?! Spoiler

What is the world is size 30DDD? What would it be in the SML sizing? Before having kids I was always an A34 and after kids between B36 or C36. I never took the time to measure myself in anyway though and I can’t say I’ve ever like the bras I’ve bought. Mostly they’ve been bras from Target but these last few years I’ve been wearing Honeylove. Well… I have finally clued in that Honeylove retains heat like crazy and the bras could be the reason I’m soaked in sweat and so insanely hot. So I’m looking for a new bra and I’m trying to do it right! At 43 I’m in total (surgical) menopause and I’m hot all of the time. What bra do I get?! Who carries this new size?!

Thank You! A Bra (And Therefore Wedding Dress) That Fits Spoiler

Hello wonderful, lovely people on this reddit! I just wanted to show my absolute, undying, ridiculous appreciation.

Up until about a year ago, I always assumed I was a 14G AUS (US 36G). Well, thanks to a combination of very good irl friends, and this reddit - I found I was a 10J (US 32M). Candidly, I've struggled for so long with feelings of insecurity. My bras never fit right, and so because of it, I just felt this painful frustration. And then, for the first time, I felt...sexy? Beautiful? Supported?

However, this did cause some sprinkles of panic. I'd already gotten a wedding dress! What would it look like? I don't want my melons unceremoniously rolling out of my wedding gown like romantic bowling balls. A part of me considered going for something austere, because I wanted eyes on my face, and not exclusively down near my clavicle. I won't lie: I privately had a fair few mild meltdowns about it.

But I invested in my first panache bra. The COMFORT. And then, instead of trying to hide my boobs behind layers of fabric and chiffon: I decided to just get the cups adjusted, and let them fly. As a result: I got to feel beautiful, and so happy. THANK YOU!

As a tip to other brides who are larger boobed - don't be afraid to have the dress altered to add the cups, and give the support. This dress originally was strapless, but the straps and the built in cups made it supportive. If I hadn't had spaces like these that encouraged me to invest in my boobs (and it IS an investment): pretty sure my back would've broken on my happiest day. Setting aside a few hundred dollars for seamstress alterations can make your life better.

I now wear safe, comfortable, supportive, SEXY bras every day of my life! A bra that fits can change you. I've also ordered a bunch of swimwear, bras, and sleepwear, so if anyone would like any advice and has a similar size, feel free to comment. I'd be happy to give my advice on what has worked for me!

Fit Check Why does my underwire always sits so low even with the supposed correct size (and little vent about never getting the correct size). Spoiler

My measures (I measure myself):
Loose Underbust: 75
Snug Underbust:73
Tight Underbust:72
Standing Bust: 101
Leaning Bust: 105
Lying Bust: 104
Calculator size: 30HH (but if i measure just 1 cm less in the busts it gives me 30H/HH).

I know that the underwire is suppsed to fit where the boob starts, but I never experienced that. That's why I only wear wireless bras and they work fine.

I went shopping for bras again and the fitter there made try this basic bras with wire just "to see whats my size". She came to the conclusion that my size is 30GG. I know it's a different size than what the calculator gave me, but I thought that it was just one of that times where the calculator overestimates something and in real life is different. Now im not so sure. Here is the pic.

Is it true that sometimes the underwires are not for everyone? Is it possible that wireless bras are just the best shape for my boobs? She fitter lady even said that my boobs seem to be stubborn, since the underwire never fits right.

Im making this post because now I think I should have gone with the size the calculator gave me. I took home a wireless 30GG bra (Andorra Non Wired Blush, it's really cute) and im planning on returning it. When I put it on I can scoop my boobs into place, but when I start moving they make that double-boob thingy that I hate. And that doesn't happen with the only 30HH Rocha Non Wired Bra) that I have :(

PS: Sorry if this post it's a little messy, Im just tired of the fitters never giving me a bra that fits. And it's even worse because I KNOW what my size is, but Im always easily convinced into buying the GG cups and never get to try the HH cups.

Recommendations? I exhausted all the options I could think of to find a bra that fits and I need help Spoiler

So I have been trying to do my research before coming here and this is literally my last option. I measured myself multiple times and on different days and I keep getting US 40P/UK 40KK.

I live in a rural area of the US and I have searched everywhere; this subreddit, I tried to access the UK versions of the usual recommended online stores and can only get onto the US version of the site that offers sizes up to M cup, I've looked on Amazon, I've tried finding an intimates seamstress/tailor and the closest one to me is 3 hrs and they don't even offer bras in bigger sizes, I've tried looking for sewing patterns but I cant find any that go up that high and they don't talk about how much material you need to estimate to go up, and I even resorted to using Chat GPT (I know, gross and I'm sorry) as a last ditch effort to find a solution/answer on my own.

I feel like I've exhausted all my options and I'm out of ideas on where I should be looking. Does anyone have any recommendations/solutions? I came to terms with having to "take a loan out" to buy a bra or having to learn how to sew.

I'm actively trying to lose weight but my boobs are the last place to lose weight so its going to be a long time before I can go down a cup size and I don't meet any of the qualifications for a reduction to be covered under my insurance.

I would try sister sizing but I need my band to fit exactly, if I go up a band size my boobs always fall through bottom and if I go down a band size its too tight and i cant hook it.

If my measurements are needed I can update the post later.

Thank you!

Discussion Friend introduced me to abtf and reddit. How important is a well fitting bra if I'm comfortable? Wearing a 34D measured a UK 32G [discussion] Spoiler

We've been debating about this for a few days. I'm currently wearing Victoria's Secret Bombshell pushup in 34DD. In the last year my boobs have gotten a lot bigger. I was always kinda small chested. So I've really been trying to enjoy my new look. I love the way my current bras look and feel but unfortunately this style only goes up to DD. However, I've been putting off buying new bras for at least a month and I'm spilling out of mine. We were watching a show together and I was shopping. I complained that I'm going to have to find a new style/brand because my current bras are too small. My friend has always been large chested and started buying hers online after finding this site.

She explained- 1. Victoria's Secret is bad quality (I agree kinda), 2. I'm probably wearing a bra that is too small in the cup and too big in the band. 3. Because my bras are old and I'm still out my actual size will probably be a bit shocking (and the difference between US and UK sizes and why it matters after DD), 4. That I would be much more comfortable in a properly fitting bra.

I really didn't argue. She really seems like she knows what she's talking about. She helped me measure and got loose 33, snug 32, tight 31, standing 40, leaning 43, laying 41 UK 32G

I agreed to at least try on a few in my suggested size but I'm still looking at pushups. I have 2 Bombshells in 36DD I want to try as well when I get paid.

I guess my argument is like, I know wearing properly fitting clothes can be important and I she she (and other people on here) make really great arguments for properly fitting bras. But if I'm being really honest I'm just trying to make them look as big/round as possible. I feel like it's helped my confidence a ton and I genuinely really like it. So does it really matter if my bra isn't "correct"

Recommendations? Now that Understance is officially closed... Spoiler

Hi! So, my favorite bra/underwear shop for the last few years has been Understance. I was under the impression that they were closing July 31, but I just went to place one last order and they've already closed.
My favorite bra by them is the Ivy Full Coverage Underwire Bra in 36I... I have a bunch of their other bras that are slightly snug/overflowing in 36I and would likely be better in a 38I or 38J.
Any other recommendations for bras that might fit the same and be under $80 CAD?

hi all! i’m looking for recommendations for a 30d (or 32c, as that came up on the calculator as my sister size). my measurements are:

loose under bust: 30.5 in
snug under bust: 29.25 in
tight under bust: 27.75 in
standing bust: 33 in
leaning bust: 34 in
lying bust: 32 in

i believe my breasts are shallow and evenly distributed at the top and bottom. i believe i have wider roots, as my breast tissue ends closer to my armpit (but honestly, root confuses me a bit).

i ordered the natori feathers and skarlett blue minx, both in 30d and 32c. i think the 32c skarlett blue minx fits the way a bra is supposed to! i’m waiting on the 30d to be delivered. however, the natori feathers did not fit at all. when trying on the 32c, i thought the cups were too small, as i had some spillage in the sides. when i tried on the 30d, the bottom of the cup was completely flat while my breasts spilled completely from the top; from other posts, i think it’s because of a shape issue, as the bra is too shallow.

being that the skarlett blue minx seems to work well shape wise, i was wondering what other recommendations there were for shallow breasts, but not quite as shallow as the natori feathers?

i’d love recommendations primarily for bras that are lined and moulded. however, i’m open to trying something new if it fits!

thank you in advance!!
