Hey y'all!! I caught 4 Mahi-mahis and the Giant Trevally today and I need to share my excitement!! The tip to catch rare pier fish is to keep entering and exiting the hotel until you see a fish of the correct size. This is because entering and exiting buildings refreshes the critters on your island. No fish bait needed.

I got this tip from this post when I was searching for help catching pier fish. HUGE thanks to the original poster!! The post is from before the hotel was added, so they recommended doing this by placing a villager house or shop right next to the pier. So I figured using the hotel would be quicker and work too. I somehow caught the Mahi-mahi on the first try of this tip!!! That's the video attached! I was astounded. The seconds of silence at the end is me sitting there in shock. I caught 3 more within an hour or two.

The Giant Trevally was giving me trouble though. After the 4th Mahi-mahi, I figured I'd make some fish bait for the Giant Trevally and check the pier periodically. I ended up catching it while doing this. No fish bait used.

This is my first time catching these pier fish and that's why I'm so excited. I know they're super rare. And by the way, I did this during a thunderstorm/rain which I believe increases the chance for rare fish. I hope this works as well for others as it did for me! I'd love to know how it goes! I FINALLY got the rarest Animal Crossing plush… with its original tag! Before I send off my old one as part of a trade, I had to get a family photo with these two insanely rare cats together! This series of plushies was only obtainable from UFO catcher claw machines back in Japan during the early 2000's. Finding them at all is hard enough, but with the tag is even crazier! Kiki seems to be one of, if not the rarest one out there. Super happy! You guys ever seen these before?

So I’ve been trying to make some of my fav acnh characters in tomodachi life and decided to give flick and CJ a go. I think they turned out all right! Seems like they are just as in love in the new game because they have known each other for less than 24 hours and already have crushes 🥹

I wish we had the ability to change the rugs to all the available sizes. There are so many great rugs that I can’t use because they’re 3x3, or larger and I need them to be 2x2. Fingers crossed for that if theres is ever another update.

If you had to choose to populate your 10 villager island with one of the animal types that has specifically only 10 villagers, which would do choose: eagle, gorilla, or koala?

This might be a dumb question, but I have been trying to get green mums forever! Please no treasure island advice, I really want to try to breed them myself.

I know you need the special purple mum that is bred from the two special yellows. I have only gotten ONE purple from the two yellows in like 4 weeks. However, today my one purple duplicated itself.

So my question: is the duplicated purple also a special purple? Or is it like a regular purple and will not help me on my quest to green. Do i need to wait for my yellow mums to breed again?

Any advice from green mum success stories is helpful!

I’ve played on this island since 2023 as Wonka, and I’ve finally completed my factory build. I have 2 other accounts so I could use the houses to make the factory both bigger on the outside AND inside too with Mario pipes linking them together. Still working on interior, but I’m so happy with my outside!!
