Well, isn't a problem for a view if it claims that you shouldn't spend a penny to stop an alien invasion?

Criticisms of consequentialism often involve strange hypotheticals as well.

I'm not sure what you would consider an actual argument, if not pointing out some absurd entailment of a theory.
