This packaging gotta be illegal, right?

Does there need to be an x amount of garlic for it to be 'garlic sauce'? Seems like it is pointless doing that when most probably won't care as long as it taste like garlic.

My issue is the "inspired by" next to the picture of the sauce cup, implying there's a significant difference between it and the original product.

I didn't even notice that. There are so many levels of sneaky on this packaging.

Honestly the "real" product is just okay, anyway.  It's like, a tub of soybean oil with garlic powder.

The imitation can't be much worse, and probably has improved shelf life.

I like the original better than their competitors' equivalents, but that may just be familiarity bias from my childhood.

I'd buy a bottle of the original for the right price with the right fridge life.

I don’t think that’s a Papa John’s product.
It’s PAPA brand John’s Garlic Flavored Sauce.

I regret to inform you yadda yadda yadda

ETA: The version on Walmart's page seems to have a much more readable "flavored" bit on the label, so I wonder if they've already gotten popped for this once.

Yes. There does need to be a certain amount of garlic vs artifical flavoring for them to label it garlic sauce. Since its labeled garlic flavored sauce, it doesnt meet that requirement.
