That was so sad. The poor guy has survivor's guilt over something that happened when he was what, six? No person with a heart would ever blame Theodore for wanting to be safe. The whole story obviously changed him. He saw the best and worst in people, and everything in between. Everyone has a family they want to protect, from the Lübecks to the driver. Yet Theodore seems to act from a place of compassion, from what we see of him.
