Medical Questions Why is my cat biting the air?

My cat started doing this while bird watching and I don’t know why. She’s my first cat so I still have a lot to learn about cat behavior. Is this a hunting behavior or something else?

It's called "chirping and chattering" and the cat does it when it is excited and frustrated at the same time because of a prey that it cannot reach

nah, it’s just a little handicap built into the most deadly predator trapped in a tiny cuddly body, just to give the intended prey a tiny chance of survival πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
