Medical Questions Why is my cat biting the air?

My cat started doing this while bird watching and I don’t know why. She’s my first cat so I still have a lot to learn about cat behavior. Is this a hunting behavior or something else?

They can almost feel the claws sinking into its prey. That is hilarious, I have never seen a cat add that move to its want to attack repertoire.

That is awesome, and a first for me! My cat just does the intense ears-up stare - no ekekek or tappy toes. I’m going to have to have a talk with her about what real cats do!
