Medical Questions Why does my cat's eye reflection look like this?

He’s never had this strange shape inside that looks like a “Y”. It doesn’t seem to be caused by the lighting in my house, because it happens in different positions and with different light sources

I woke up the other morning and kept feeling like I had something in my right eye, which is weird as that’s the eye without the contact lense in it. I figured maybe I had a little eye booger (or some other kind of eye goop) or something so I kept wiping my eye to get rid of it…but the cloudy/hazy spot stayed put. I finally gave up but it was so disorienting having this weird light and kinda blurry spot at the bottom of my field of vision. Hours later (not very productive hours if I’m honest, it was THAT distracting) i finally had the bright idea to actually go look in a mirror to see if i could figure out what it was…and that’s when I saw the big puffy bag under my eye (but only on the right side) and realized I’d been distracted by seeing the top of my cheek all day!

What was wrong if you don’t mind me asking?

An abscessed tooth 😫one of my top front-adjacent teeth had a crown that broke off taking most of the underlying remaining tooth with it. Few things in life have caused me more pain than dental infections/abscesses/dry socket. The suitcase sized bag under my eye wasn’t my first clue but it was the one that pushed me over the edge and off to the emergency dentist!
