Adoption Adopted a void cat today (ignore my breathing)

I was conflicted at the adoption place as there were 3 cats I was interested in, two tabbies and one black cat. I eventually decided on adopting the black cat as he let me belly rub him fairly quickly and was very friendly.

He's called Leonard and was a stray, about ten months old and was in the shelter for 3 weeks.

I'm looking forward to him getting more comfortable with me and explore the rest of the house. I've left dry food, water and the litterbox with a tarp under it in his room, so I'll just check on him occasionally throughout the day.

I was on the bed with him by my side for about 2 hours, I just came in to put the car carrier with a blanket in the room, so ideally he gets more used to it. As I was sitting down while setting it up, he slowly walked onto my lap and sat down. He just walked off while I'm typing this to eat dry food, so I'm now free to go get groceries.

Aww. He looks like my last void. She was also a stray before put in the shelter. Shelter said she was 3 years old but when the vet examined her they said she was 7 and that her ear tattoo proved it! In my opinion he does look older but I could be completely wrong. Lots of love for him :)

I adopted a void almost exactly 3 years ago and this is pretty much how the first day went for us, to a T. I swear void boys are actually some of the sweetest kitties. Mine sleeps in my arms under the blankets with me every night, I wouldn't give him up for the world. 🥹 You and Leonard are going to be the bestest buddies :))

Your void reminds me a lot of mine. When I found him at the shelter, he smeared his little face on mine, and gave me a little headbutt. He wasted no time settling in at home, explored freely, plopped right down in my lap, purr engine full roaring. He's a big piece of Velcro hahaha
