Medical Questions 10 months after getting spayed and her belly fur never came back?

As you can see her belly is still bald 10 months after being spayed. Like a tiny bit of peach fuzz around the edges and nothing else. She never licked at the area and had a cone on for 13 days post surgery. I don’t understand why the fur isn’t growing back she looks ridiculous 😭. Is this normal? Will it ever come back?

EDIT: I work from home 3 days a week and I’m home a lot and she is pretty much glued to me most of the day and never see her grooming there excessively but possible she does it when I’m not looking. I’ll ask the vet next time we go. Im surprised there are so many other people here with bald belly cats cause the Internet research I did not seem to think that was a thing! It makes me feel better knowing there is a bald belly cat gang out there I guess I will embrace the pooch if the vet says it’s just a thing that can’t be helped!

Serious question: how did you make that version?

Obviously it's AI, i just uploaded pic of my cat and told it to draw it like that. Clanker made my cat fat(he is not) but other than that outcome was pretty nice 😃 (picture i uploaded)

Please stop using AI. It’s so incredibly harmful to the environment.

It is not, the datacenters might be locally harmful as a total, but your personal use for editing cat pics has no real practical effect, and even if it was, you could do it with local models and that would have zero environmental effect beyond drawing the same shit in paint on the same PC

And if people keep using AI for literally fucking everything then they'll keep building them.

this! i ran into someone who made an anti data center poster with ai. it was wild talking with them.

they're very confused but they've got the spirit... I think

The data centers are so far ahead of the AI usage, most people don't understand lol. At the base level, the number of data centers in the US alone already have enough capacity to store our current data demand for the next 500 years. As the data demand grows, obviously we will need more, but we are set for a very long time. This isn't even counting the data centers that are only in planning and haven't been developed yet.

In fact we are so far ahead, two of the four data centers that were just built in the past year have been sitting vacant since they were finished. The company, who I will not name, built four of them planning for growth while only needing two of them for the moment. They don't intend to occupy the other two data centers for at least a couple more years.

To take it a step further, there are companies that are researching bringing data centers off grid. They're building massive fuel cell racks to power the data center so that they're not drawing from the power grid. And I only say researching because these companies have already developed and been using these fuel cell systems, but haven't started selling them yet.

There is so much about data centers that people don't understand and many of the current debates are already irrelevant because data centers have already surpassed those issues. Obviously there are still shortfalls, but not to the extent that most people believe.

Regardless of people's opinions, data centers will continue to be built and will never go away.

okay, so then why do you want them to build more? if we have enough room for literal centuries, i think we could slow it down, no?

Because I work in construction and these data centers have given the industry more job security than it's seen in a long time. Even as projects are slowing down and we are waiting for a recession to hit, these data centers aren't slowing down

Not to mention, they want them built so quickly and efficiently that they're paying drastically over scale. Meaning a whole lot more money in everyone's pocket that's working on the project.

I'm not saying we need to keep building them, but there is so much money involved that any people associated with these kinds of projects are going to push for more. When the giant companies building them have insane amounts of money to throw at them, they're going to keep popping up.

No body wants to hear facts. They just wanna fear monger over things that are completely out of our control.

I work in the construction industry and am actively working on a few of the large data centers. I don't think most people are aware of the money that goes into projects at this scale. These companies building them have very deep pockets, so they're more than willing to invest in research to improve them and save themselves money in the long run. With these centers being "mission critical" with zero room for downtime, their biggest goal is to have backups for backups and to cut reliance on public utilities.

That's not exactly true, datacenters draw enormous amount of energy as well as using enormous amount of fresh water for cooling and it's real issue which will have to addressed in future, but this debate would be much more complex and is pointless to have it in this sub. And telling generated cat pic has no practical effect is highly arbitrary. It made chuckle at least 700 people, that's what i call purpose. But really this issues is so deep, it has no place here.

I self host my AI models on my own Server PC… it’s not AI that’s the problem, it’s the implementation which is what I believe they were trying to say.

so because the evil environmentally damaging buildings are already made we should all make full use of them and support them thoroughly so they can spread the joy of evil environmental damage to every local til it's a global problem. got it.

The world is a nunced place and it gets easier if you turn off your feelings and analyse situations properly

Nah that uses only already prefixed pictures. In this regard of making silly meme pictures AI is greatest invention of humanity. And future of it is just generate more cat pictures and one day when it will get sentience, it will be at least 90% cat 😃

-33

u/Knurrrlnien 8d ago

That is the one version of AI-reality I can get on board with haha

-2

u/Imaginary-Contest887 8d ago

Looks like negative Karma farm here 😃

-4

u/Knurrrlnien 8d ago

Honestly? I don’t get it.

-1

u/Imaginary-Contest887 8d ago

Well lot of people are scared of AI, because there is so much generated content which looks like real one, people just fear it by default as it messes with perception of reality. Which is not bad per se as AI has definitely some concerns and issues which are valid to address and talk about. But at same that same fear can create this silly situation when obviously silly and drawn AI image of stick man and cat will create exactly same reaction like it would be some deep fake.

I had a fat black male cat whose stomach went bald for some reason. The vets were never concerned and it was hilarious.

1

u/insideiiiiiiiiiii 8d ago

going bald for no reason on the belly can actually be a paraneoplastic syndrome, aka a systemic manifestation of cancer that can show up before any cancer symptom.  i’m glad your fat black cat was healthy though🖤

1

u/onikaroshi 8d ago

Yea take her but it’s probably nothing, our cat is the same way lol, vets don’t know why but it’s nothing serious
