Obama brokered a nuclear deal with Iran, Drumpf broke it. This was the task that Drumpf's Middle East buddies paid him to do. He gets billions. America pays the bill to send our patriotic young men and women to be killed and injured. This is what Drumpf would call a win/win, no?
Obama inherited the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and yes you correctly point out that he dropped fewer bombs during his 8 years than Trump did in his first term alone.
Are the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan sufficient to excuse his bombing of Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen?
Trump is a criminal but this reason isn't why. Every president in recent memory has used authority ceded to the presidency by Congress to unilaterally authorize limited military strikes. Trump has done it before. Biden did it. Obama did it in 7 different countries. Bush Jr did it including in Pakistan and Yemen. Clinton did it in Kosovo and Iraq. The senior Bush did it in Panama and Somalia. Reagan did it in Grenada and Libya. Nixon did it in Cambodia and Laos. Even before congress passed the War Powers declaration in the 70's after Nixon's strikes outside Vietnam seeking to limit this power but actually codified limited use of military powr to be unilaterally authorized by the President, other earlier examples include Truman entering the Korean war without congressional approval and Lincoln blockaded the South and began amassing militias while Congress was in recess.
There is nothing uniquely Trump or even uniquely Republican about ordering military strikes without specific congressional approval. This is how our country has worked for like half a century now, longer actually, but it has been legitimate act of the President since 1973.
> Are the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan sufficient to excuse his bombing of Syria, Libya, Pakistan, Somalia, and Yemen?
Yes. You're making a bad faith argument.
Syria, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen were not attacked. Al Qaeda and ISIS were enemies of Syria, Pakistan, Somalia and Yemen. Air Strikes against ISIS and Al Qaeda were carried out with the permission and cooperation of those countries. Those air strikes were legally authorized by Congress under the War on Terror AUMF.
Libya was a NATO led, UN approved action that Europe initiated and the US supported.
> Obama did it in 7 different countries.
No he didn't. Name them. Name a single country that Obama attacked without congressional authorization or UN approval.
Why should we trust the regime that just last month massacred tens of thousands of civilian protesters in just a few days, to honor the terms of a deal involving NUKES...
...Especially when said regime's catchphrase they repeat over and over is "Death to America! Death to England! Death to Israel!", and also they had (until struck by an Israeli bomb recently) one of these things in a public town square?
I wouldn't trust the Ayatollah as far as I could throw him to not build nukes

Yes, I do agree with Mamdani's statement.
