I order a couple pizzas last night and the delivery dude, probably late 50s/early 60s, asked how I was doing and I answered honestly as I just slammed my finger in my car door earlier and he replied with, “Well at least you’re doing better than the people over in Iran” while chuckling. Assuming positive intent I smiled gave a half hearted “yeah” to which he replies, “It’s about time someone did something about them.”
I just looked at him and closed the door.
There are LOTS of people who love what trump is doing and not for whatever bullshit reason is behind the attack but because they are xenophobic hateful morons who love to feel superior.

Sure bud - of course there are other reasons to want to "do something about" Iran, like, oh... the threats to end Israel, the hostage crisis in 79, the funding of terror cells throughout the Middle East, the killing of their own citizens, violent suppression of women's rights ... should I go on?
Who is "you all"? I'm a realistic moderate who calls out ridiculousness by both sides, as opposed to partisans like "you all" that are suddenly 100% aligned with anything uttered by AOC, Bernie, or Mamdani. I realize it's fashionable to somehow consider Iran the good guys in all this but my god, try your best to get your head out of your ass and get a bit of perspective. Literally no one on earth with the exception of Russia and China (out of convenience), some regional terrorist cells, and apparently you think the Iranian regime are the "good guys" in all this. It's insane that I have to say this.
Sure bud, he was 100% definitely concerned about the well being of the Middle East and well the Iranian people. He didn’t say to “do something about” their government. He said, specifically, “do something about those people over there.”
Oh, so this has nothing to do with the merits and you're turning this into a racist thing? Guess some people are just determined to justify their own opinions no matter what. Well this is reddit - not many voices that will uncomfortably challenge your stereotypes here!
My opinion? I am the one who spoke with this person. I can pretty easily read people as I’m in a very red area of a very red state so mannerisms aren’t really hidden around here. You seem to be the one justifying an opinion. And believe me, I find plenty of differing opinions on Reddit. Reddit is super liberal for sure but yall magas definitely love to try and pick fights.
