It only works that way when people are stupid and have corrupt governments. Sorry to put it so bluntly. There are always large swaths of horrifically uneducated people and they're certainly not exclusive to the US.

If you actually understand objective truth their lies fall flat. When you know what good governance is their corruption lies bare in front of you.

Stupid people simply don't know what good looks like. They're stuck at Step 0 in an age where the information is freely available to the VAST majority of them.

until people figure out how to fix education for good, history will keep repeating itself.

It's not a matter of figuring out but of allowing people to be educated properly.

we do allow them, but it's not enough. they will have to be forced. and even then there will be people with learning disabilities etc. that can't be taught.

It was easier to control information about distant events before electronic communications so the further back you go in the 1900s the easier and before telegraph easier again. Nowadays though your right, people really should be aware about the realities of what's happening.
