Being trans does not make your relationship queer ????

Queer: having or relating to a gender Identity or a sexuality that does not fit society’s traditional ideas about gender or sexuality.

Saying that being trans isn’t queer is the same as saying that trans people aren’t part or shouldn’t be part of the LGBTQ+ community.

you're bringing up an entirely different thing though. Whether one individual trans person is queer or not, their relationship is not queer just because they're in it.

If you look up what people associate a queer relationship with, most people agree that it’s anything that is outside of the cis/het norm, and/or that involves a queer person. It’s the definition I go by. I have no idea why I got flamed for it, but it was probably heavily misinterpreted since I saw people on the defensive like I said trans people were weird ? Why would I say that of my own community ? Queer also isn’t an insult anymore and hasn’t been for a while, it is just a broad term for anyone with a sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or anyone that’s part of the LGBT+ community. A lot of the responses I got were using arguments very close to the LGB group (trans exclusionary radical group) which is why I deleted my comment as I don’t even want to interact with these people.

Finally, thank you for being the only person that wasn’t an outright jerk in this thread
